See ‘Melrose Place’ actor Patrick Muldoon’s last photo before death
“Melrose Place” actor Patrick Muldoon was photographed publicly for the last time at the 53rd Annual Saturn Awards on March 8, over one month before his death.
Muldoon wore a polished navy blue suit with a pink button-down shirt and a pair of black loafers to the event, held at the Hilton Universal City in Los Angeles.
He posed on the red carpet both solo and with his former “Starship Troopers” co-star Denise Richards, who rocked a bright yellow dress.
The 2026 Saturn Awards were hosted by Joel McHale and honored the best in sci-fi, fantasy and horror in film and television from the last year.
The most awarded film was “Avatar: Fire and Ash,” followed by “Frankenstein,” while “Andor” and “Pluribus” led the pack in the TV categories.
Other stars who attended the event included Tom Cruise, James Cameron, George Lucas, Mark Hamill, William Shatner, Geena Davis, Guillermo Del Toro, the cast of “The Boys” and more.
A few weeks after the Saturn Awards, Muldoon celebrated Easter with his family, including sister Shana Muldoon-Zappa, who documented the event on Instagram.
Her videos showed Muldoon playing the guitar and singing with his loved ones before the holiday meal.
“Muldoon/ Zappa family Easter 2026🤘🏼💫,” she captioned the festive post.
Muldoon suffered a fatal heart attack on Sunday. He was 57.
Shana told TMZ that Muldoon was found unconscious on the bathroom floor at his Beverly Hills, California home by his partner, Miriam Rothbart.
The actor was pronounced dead on the scene after paramedics were called.
Muldoon shared his final Instagram post two days before his death, highlighting his excitement over working on an upcoming film with Chris Hemsworth, Alec Baldwin, Taron Edgerton and Zazzie Beetz.
He said that the movie was “filming now in Australia.”
Muldoon’s career began in 1990 with two episodes of “Who’s the Boss?” followed by a recurring role on “Saved By the Bell.”
He is best known for his role as Austin Reed on “Days of Our Lives” from 1992 to 1995 and from 2011 to 2012, with him playing Richard Hart on “Melrose Place” during the hiatus.
On the big screen, he played Zander Barcalow in the 1997 film “Starship Troopers” alongside Richards, Neil Patrick Harris, Casper Van Dien and Dina Meyer.
Muldoon was also the lead singer and played guitar for The Sleeping Masses.
