‘Glee’ alum Becca Tobin slams Hilary Duff’s ‘gross’ husband for getting involved in ‘toxic’ mom group drama
Becca Tobin called Hilary Duff’s husband, Matthew Koma, a “loser” for inserting himself in Ashley Tisdale’s “toxic” mom group drama.
On the Tuesday episode of the “Glee” alum’s podcast, “Ladygang,” she commented on all the drama surrounding Tisdale calling out her former mom group for their alleged “mean girl” behavior in a viral essay for The Cut. Fans quickly deduced from past social media pics that the mom group included Duff, Mandy Moore, Meghan Trainor and more.
While Tisdale didn’t name names, Koma savagely hit back at Tisdale by posting a fake mocked-up cover of himself on the cover of The Cut, with a headline that read, “A mom group tell all through a father’s eyes: When You’re the Most Self-Obsessed Tone Deaf Person on Earth, Other Moms Tend to Shift Focus To Their Actual Toddlers.”
Tobin mused that the friction in the mom group could just amount to a difference of parenting opinions, but sharply criticized Koma’s involvement.
“Now let me tell you, I don’t think there’s any loser…there’s no loser in this group, to me, not one except for Hilary Duff’s husband,” Tobin said.
“I think it is so gross when husbands jump in and get petty, especially since Ashley did not name names,” she continued.
Tobin explained that she would have understood Koma getting involved if Tisdale had directly called Duff out, but stressed that Tisdale didn’t.
“I really am rubbed the wrong way when a man inserts himself like this, and it’s solely for him to get attention,” she said.
“Ladygang” co-host Jac Vanek chimed in and said that Koma was known for causing drama on social media.
“He always inserts himself into things,” she said. “So it’s not as surprising that he would do that in that situation as like, a normal husband.”
Tobin doubled down on her negative opinion about Koma, accusing him of “attacking a woman.”
“I think that’s so tacky,” she said. “I would be so upset with my husband, whether or not I get along with this person. We had a falling out…whatever the thing is. It’s like, she goes low, and then he goes lower.”
“I think it’s actually really gross when a man comments on something like this and also it’s offensive,” she continued. “It’s offensive for what he said about her. I don’t like it at all.”
Meanwhile, Duff appears to be taking all the headlines in stride. The actress and singer was all smiles in Los Angeles on Monday in her first public outing since the mom group drama.
The “Lizzie McGuire” alum was photographed strolling with her 1-year-old daughter, Townes Meadow Bair.
Duff and Koma share Townes as well as daughters Banks Violet Bair, 7, and Mae James Bair, 4.
Duff is also a mom to her 13-year-old son, Luca, whom she shares with ex-husband Mike Comrie.
