Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence identifies as ‘a stay-at-home mom’
Jennifer Lawrence prefers being referred to as a mother rather than an Oscar-winning actress.
“I identify as a stay-at-home mom,” the “Hunger Games” star said on Monday’s episode of the “SmartLess” podcast.
Lawrence — who shares son Cy, 3, and a second baby boy, born in early 2025, with husband Cooke Maroney — added that she is “obviously working” and recently had to juggle a hectic schedule.
“I normally have a busy three months while I’m filming, but even in that sense, it’s calm because there is nothing else to do,” the actress, 35, explained.
“I just go to work, I do that, I come home, I sleep, and then I do it again. And then, like, two weeks while you promote. It is hectic.”
Most recently, the “Silver Linings Playbook” star promoted her film “Die My Love” alongside co-star Robert Pattinson this past November.
Lawrence portrays Grace, a writer and young mother who is battling postpartum depression, in the Lynne Ramsay-directed movie.
Lawrence’s role earned her a nomination for outstanding lead performance at the 2025 Gotham Awards in December.
She was also nominated for best performance by a female actor in a motion picture at the 2026 Golden Globes, which took place in Los Angeles over the weekend.
Other nominees included Renate Reinsve (“Sentimental Value”), Julia Roberts (“After the Hunt”), Tessa Thompson (“Hedda”), Eva Victor (“Sorry, Baby”) and Jessie Buckley, who won the award for her role in “Hamnet.”
Lawrence — who won an Oscar in 2013 for her role in “Silver Linings Playbook” — appears to have a tight schedule both at work and at home.
During her lengthy “SmartLess” podcast conversation, the actress briefly discussed how she parents her kids with Maroney.
“I married somebody who is the opposite of me. He is so organized. He’s an anchor,” she explained of the 41-year-old art gallery director, whom she wed in 2019.
“Everything is ordered. I have to keep the closet doors closed, and I have my little jobs that I work really hard to do. I get it now, I get it. [[The kids are] on a very strict schedule.”
As for what keeps their “marriage alive”?
“We’ve learned, to keep our marriage alive, I have a 15-minute wiggle room,” she revealed, admitting she often struggles with keeping to the family schedule.
