Ashley Tisdale’s former mom group members’ reaction to essay revealed
The mom group that Ashley Tisdale called “toxic” in her scathing essay is ready to put the drama behind them and move on.
“The moms remaining in the group wish Ashley no ill will,” a source told Us Weekly.
The insider said that the group, which included Hilary Duff, Mandy Moore, Meghan Trainor and more, was “surprised” by the essay the “High School Musical” actress wrote for the Cut, as they “thought the friendship faded organically.”
“There was no big blowout moment so this came as a surprise to them,” the source added.
Earlier this month, Tisdale, 40, wrote a scathing essay for the Cut, explaining why she was “breaking up” with her “toxic” mom group of friends.
In the piece, the “Suite Life of Zack & Cody” alum said she didn’t feel “cool enough” after she was excluded from hangouts with members of the mom group.
“I realized that there were group text chains that didn’t include everyone, which led to cliques forming within the larger group,” she alleged in the essay.
“And after the third or fourth time of seeing social media photos of everyone else at a hangout that I didn’t get invited to, it felt like I wasn’t really part of the group after all.”
Due to feeling excluded, Tisdale said she questioned why she still showed “up for this.”
Several of the women responded to Tisdale’s shady essay, including Moore, who cryptically commented on the drama.
In a podcast appearance this week, the “Candy” singer, also 41, said she has “had to sort of mourn in a way” how some of her friendships have “changed.”
While Duff, 38, has remained mum on Tisdale’s claims, the “Lizzie McGuire” actress’s husband, Matthew Koma, spoke out, calling the “Scary Movie 5” star the “most self-obsessed tone deaf person on earth.”
Despite everyone’s opinion on the essay, Tisdale has shut out the noise by enjoying a day of self-care.
On Tuesday, the mom of two took to her Instagram Stories to share that she had a “little massage and facial day.”
