Celine Dion makes major career move as she battles stiff person syndrome
Celine Dion revealed she will be returning for 10 “unforgettable shows” in Paris as she continues to battle stiff person syndrome.
“I wanted to let you know that I’m doing great, managing my health,” the “My Heart Will Go On” songstress shared via YouTube Monday.
“I’m feeling good, I’m singing again, even doing a little bit of dancing, obviously, I love it so much. But I have to tell you something very important.”
Dion, 58, expressed her gratitude for her fans, explaining that she has felt the “prayers and support” from fans throughout the past few years.
The five-time Grammy winner, who was also celebrating her 58th birthday, shared she was “getting the best birthday gift of [her] life.”
“I’m getting the chance to see you, to perform for you once again in Paris, beginning in September,” she said. “I’m so ready to do this.”
“I’m feeling good, I’m strong, I’m feeling excited, obviously a little nervous, but most of all, I’m grateful to all of you,” Dion added. “I can’t wait to see you all again.”
Pre-sale tickets for Dion’s shows at the Paris La Défense Arena hit the market on April 7.
The “I’m Alive” singer will be hitting the stage for 10 nights between Sept. 17 and Oct. 14.
The “All By Myself” singer announced she was diagnosed with stiff person syndrome in 2022 when she had to cancel several concerts.
“I’ve been dealing with problems with my health for a long time, and it’s been really difficult for me to face these challenges and to talk about everything that I’ve been going through,” she shared in an emotional video.
According to John Hopkins Medicine, the condition “is a rare autoimmune neurological disorder that most commonly causes muscle stiffness and painful spasms that come and go and can worsen over time.”
Dion returned to the stage two years later when she performed “Hymne A L’Amour” by Édith Piaf at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
That November, the music icon also performed her 1993 track “The Power of Love” and 2002 song “I’m Alive” at the 1001 Seasons of Elie Saab fashion show in Saudi Arabia.
She also appeared upbeat while wishing fans a Happy Thanksgiving in a message about gratitude in November 2025.
