Howard Stern and Wife Beth Sued by Ex-Personal Assistant for ‘Hostile Work Environment’
UPDATE — 4/15/26, 12:53 p.m. ET: Howard Stern and Beth Stern’s former personal assistant Leslie Kuhn has filed an amended complaint.
According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly, Kuhn and her legal team requested the court assign a judge to the case and grant a preliminary conference.
The amended complaint also places a valued judgment in an amount “not less than $2.5 million.”
Original story:
Howard Stern and his wife, Beth Stern, have been sued by a former employee claiming the couple created a hostile work environment.
According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly on Monday, April 6, Leslie Kuhn was hired as an office manager for SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show in September 2022 before she became Howard’s executive assistant in January 2024.
Four months later, Kuhn claims she was asked to move to Southampton, New York, to work at Howard, 72, and Beth’s mansion.
“Beth Stern told Kuhn that, in addition to assisting [Howard], Beth needed assistance with such things as managing the staff of the mansion, setting staffing schedules, completing staff payroll and managing general household operations, including Beth’s extensive at-home feline rescue and fostering operations,” the docs stated.
Beth is a known animal advocate who serves as the national spokesperson for North Shore Animal League America. She also was instrumental in creating Bianca’s Furry Friends Feline Adoption Center, which recently opened at North Shore Animal League America, the world’s largest no-kill shelter and rescue organization.
On February 26, Kuhn’s employment was allegedly terminated for cause.
“Kuhn contends that her termination was the result of, among other things, a hostile work environment and enablement of that hostile work environment, immense pressures on the household created by irresponsible and untenable animal rescue and fostering operations occurring on-site, and massively disorganized and questionable business operations and accounting practices,” court documents state. “As such, Kuhn fully intends to disclose details concerning the facts surrounding her employment.”
The lawsuit also alleges that a law firm representing Stern’s production company presented her with a separation agreement containing a nondisclosure agreement that she claims she did not sign.
Kuhn and her legal team allege her “signature” is “nothing more than her typewritten name in the same font style and size used to identify the parties’ names in the recitals of the agreement.”
“The Confidentiality Agreement was thus fabricated by the [the Sterns] and is, accordingly, void [from the beginning],” court documents claim. “No person or persons, natural or otherwise, ever presented Kuhn with the Non-Disclosure Agreement for her signature. Kuhn never signed the Non-Disclosure Agreement.”
Us Weekly has reached out to Beth and Howard’s team for comment.
Kuhn is asking the court to declare the NDA unenforceable. She’s also asking the court to require the Sterns to cover her court costs. (TMZ was first to report the lawsuit.)
In December 2025, Stern signed a three-year contract extension with SiriusXM, ensuring The Howard Stern Show will remain on the platform through the end of 2028.
SiriusXM did not disclose the terms of Stern’s new deal. According to the Los Angeles Times, his expiring pact reportedly pays him $100 million a year.
