Teyana Taylor shimmies onto the Met Gala 2026 red carpet in silver fringe
Teyana Taylor is a Met Gala main character.
The “One Battle After Another” star, 35, walked the Met Gala 2026 red carpet in New York City Monday night wearing a custom hooded Tom Ford by Haider Ackermann gown dripping in silver fringe.
Taylor, who rose to fame as a dancer and choreographer before her acting gigs, shimmied and sashayed in front of the cameras, showing off the movement of the shaggy metallic look.
She paired the look with silver platform sandals worthy of a disco queen, and finished with a winged smokey eye and pink blush.
Taylor served on this year’s host committee alongside Sabrina Carpenter, Doja Cat, Angela Bassett and more, with Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman and Venus Williams co-chairing the “Costume Art”-themed event.
Her look is right on theme, with the exhibit exploring the relationship between the human form and fashion and art.

The Harlem-born multi-hyphenate has become one of the gala’s most reliable scene-stealers. Last year, she commanded the carpet for “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” in a custom crimson zoot suit with a padded cape embroidered with “Harlem rose.” The look was designed by Oscar-winning costume designer Ruth E. Carter in collaboration with Marc Jacobs.
In 2024, she opted for a blond wig and an opulent red velvet gown by The Blonds for the “Sleeping Beauties” theme. And, in 2023, she went viral for bunny-hopping up the Met steps in a Thom Browne skirt suit so snug it left her unable to walk — then smuggled in Chick-fil-A once she made it inside.
Taylor’s fashion profile has risen since. She won the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress in January for her performance in “One Battle After Another,” walking the carpet in a custom Schiaparelli Haute Couture gown that turned heads from behind thanks to a crystal-encrusted thong.
“The crack is covered in diamonds,” she told E!. “It’s expensive.”
At the Oscars in March, the Best Supporting Actress nominee chose a showgirl-inspired Chanel feathered gown dripping with 60 carats of Tiffany & Co. diamonds, then swapped into two more looks for the Vanity Fair Oscar Party and an afterparty at Craig’s.
She was also named one of Time’s 2026 Women of the Year.
