Read ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ star Nicholas Brendon’s 11-word handwritten will
Nicholas Brendon’s alleged handwritten will has been revealed, just three months after his death at age 54.
In court documents filed on Monday, and obtained by TMZ, the “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” star’s twin brother, Kelton Schultz, is seeking to have a probate court validate the will.
“My will. Sarah gets nothing kel gets everything. He can figure it out,” the alleged handwritten will read.
The message refers to his twin and ex-girlfriend Sarah Marker.
Brendon’s parents, Robert Schultz and Kathleen Schultz, were also listed in the documents.
No mention of the actor’s assets were included in the filing.
On May 25, Kelton petitioned to be the representative for his late brother’s estate, per the “Coherence” star’s request.
A hearing will be held on July 16.
Brendon’s family announced his passing in an Instagram statement on March 20.
“We are heartbroken to share the passing of our brother and son, Nicholas Brendon. He passed in his sleep of natural causes,” they wrote, adding that “most people know Nicky for his work as an actor and for the characters he brought to life over the years.”
The statement noted that Brendon was “passionate, sensitive, and endlessly driven to create.”
While mentioning the 90s star’s past troubles, the family expressed that Brendon “was on medications and treatment to manage his diagnosis and he was optimistic about the future at the time of his passing.”
In 2022, Brendon revealed he suffered a heart attack and was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect.
He also underwent multiple spinal surgeries after his cauda equina syndrome diagnosis.
Brendon’s cause of death was revealed as atherosclerotic and hypertensive cardiovascular disease.
Acute pneumonia and his previous myocardial infarction (heart attack) were listed as contributing factors.
At the time of his death, Brendon was tangled in legal issues due to the alleged mistreatment of construction workers he hired.
In 2021, the actor was charged with prescription fraud of a controlled substance and for refusal to identify himself after being stopped for a driving infraction. He received a year of probation.
After Brendon’s passing, his “Buffy” co-stars quickly shared their devastation on social media.
“My Sweet Nicky, thank you for years of laughter, love and Dodgers,” Alyson Hannigan, who played Willow Rosenberg on the show, captioned her post. “I will think of you every time I see a rocking chair. I love you. RIP.”
Brendon starred on the vampire series for all seven seasons from 1997 to 2003 alongside Sarah Michelle Gellar, Anthony Head, Charisma Carpenter, David Boreanaz, Seth Green and Hannigan.
Earlier this month, Head suddenly died at the age of 72.
The British star passed “peacefully of complications due to pneumonia,” according to a statement shared by his daughters Emily and Daisy Head.
