Jenny Mollen Says She ‘Still’ Talks to Estranged Husband Jason Biggs ‘18 Times a Day’ After Split
Jenny Mollen and Jason Biggs are still in contact despite their recent split.
“I’m single for the first time in 18 years. Like, what is my life?” Mollen, 47, said during the Tuesday, June 23 episode of Amanda Hirsch’s “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast. “It’s surreal. I feel like it’s really bizarre.”
At the same time, she said things with her and Biggs, 48, were “the same” because they share sons Sid, 12, and Lazlo, 8.
“We live in two different places, but we’re still tethered. We have kids. We still talk 18 times a day about everyone’s schedule and after school and holidays,” she continued. “There is this element of, like, it isn’t a normal breakup.”
Mollen and Biggs met on the set of My Best Friend’s Girl in 2007. They got engaged the following year and tied the knot during a July 2008 ceremony. A rep for the couple confirmed their split to Us Weekly last month, saying that the estranged couple was on “great terms” despite their separation.
During Tuesday’s podcast episode, Mollen said that things between her and Biggs are “still romantic” — just in a different way.
“We still love each other,” she explained. “I don’t know, it’s a different type of romance. It’s like your best friend.”
Mollen reflected on the public nature of her split from Biggs, revealing that the fan reaction has been the “weirdest” thing she’s experienced. She made it clear to listeners that marriage is “f***ing hard,” clarifying further that she and Biggs have no bad blood.
“We love each other, and it is a solid relationship,” she explained to listeners. “We have always been amazing coparents and teammates.”
Mollen said during Tuesday’s podcast episode that a new relationship is not on her mind just yet.
“I’m still pretty focused on the kids. I don’t know how to be single,” she said. “I feel like if I start dating someone, I’ll be like, ‘I’m your wife now.’ Because I don’t actually know.”
Mollen revealed what she knows about dating at this time of her life — and she’s not looking forward to it. So, she’s keeping romance on the back burner for now.
“The weirdest thing [is], I’ve been talking to people about being single today,” she said. “Nobody’s actually having conversations, they’re all staring at their phones, they’re all f***ing, like, I don’t know, playing this texting banter that there’s nothing behind it. It’s not real.”
