Diane Farr Clarifies She’s Not Leaving ‘Fire Country’ After Moving Out of Los Angeles

UPDATE 8/3/2026 at 11:37 a.m. — Diane Farr might be leaving Los Angeles, but her role on CBS’ Fire Country isn’t going anywhere. 

“No @firesheriffcbs fans, I’m not leaving #firecountry,” the actress, 56, wrote in an Instagram comment on Friday, July 31, after revealing her plans to move out of L.A. “One of the places I live is to film in #Vancouver for the fifth year. We are on episode 4 of Season 5 right now 🚒.”

Fire Country star Diane Farr emotionally documented her last day in Los Angeles as she gears up to move with her family.

“Last Day in LA. I’ve lived here 30 years. Exactly 30 years and more importantly — I chose LA,” the actress, 56, wrote via Instagram on Thursday, July 30. “I wasn’t born here, I didn’t go to school here — I just had a chance for representation as an actor and I moved out of NYC the summer I was 26.”

Farr’s video was set to Harry Styles’ song “The Sign of the Times” as she walked around her soon-to-be former home. She shared that she came to Hollywood to chase her dreams and it ended up becoming the place where she raised her family. (Farr shares three children with ex-husband Seung Yong Chung.)

“I came here chasing a dream that I am still shocked worked out. And I also got to raise babies in the sun and the mountains and enjoy this beautiful home and attend public schools ??” she continued. “Pinch me I’m overwhelmed by the blessings and hope, really hope I gave enough back. LA will always be where my family is from.”

Farr added that “moving sucks,” and she felt bummed she didn’t get to spend extra time with all her loved ones because she had to “pack for four people” who are “going to six different locations.” Farr revealed that the move isn’t permanent but more a break for now.

“We are just taking a hiatus now – a word I learned here – so we are letting the house go. But god damn this was harder than I thought,” she wrote. “To leave this house. To leave this dream, even if it is realized – and to leave home. Thank you #cityofangels.”

In the video, Farr gave a glimpse of packing up her house and giving away her motorcycle.

“My sweet friend is going to give her a good home,” Farr said as one of her friends drove off on her old bike.

While the move is bittersweet, Farr shared she is ready for her “third act” in life.

“When I settle into whatever I’m supposed to be as a one,” she said, teasing that she will be “in a couple countries I never saw myself in.”

Farr is best known for starring in Fire Country as Sharon Leone, who is the Cal Fire Division Chief and mother of lead character Bode Donovan, played by Max Thieriot. Last year, Farr exclusively told Us she was shocked when her onscreen husband, played by Billy Burke, was killed off the show before departing the drama series.

“I found out over the summer. None of us knew what was happening,” she told Us in November 2025. “Billy, Jeff [Fahey] and I went into the fire and we didn’t have any more information.”
