Christina Applegate discharged from hospital after nearly four-month hospital stay
Christina Applegate was reportedly discharged from the hospital nearly four months after she was admitted in late March.
The actress, who has been battling multiple sclerosis since 2021, is back home and doing well, an insider told TMZ Monday.
A rep for Applegate, 54, wasn’t immediately available to Page Six for comment.
It remains unclear if the “Dead to Me” alum was hospitalized due to her autoimmune condition, which is a disease of the brain and spinal cord that “can cause numbness, weakness, trouble walking [and] vision changes,” per Mayo Clinic.
At the time, her rep refused to confirm her medical treatments, telling Page Six in a statement, “She’s had a long history of complicated medical conditions that she has been refreshingly open about.”
A few days later, Applegate addressed her health scare via Instagram, thanking fans for their “outpouring of love and well wishes.”
“Health issues are a constant for me, but I’m a strong chick and I’m getting stronger and better every day,” she wrote.
“I’m taking a moment to focus on my health, but I’ll be back with more to say soon enough.”
Applegate’s “Married … With Children” co-star David Faustino, who portrayed her on-screen brother, gave an update on the actress amid her hospitalization in June.
“It’s been very hard for her, but she does keep her humor,” the actor told Us Weekly, referring to her MS battle as “a real blow.”
“She gets through this with some humor, and that’s kind of her way that she moves through it,” he continued. “I do a lot of visits with her. A lot of texting, a lot of checking in.”
Applegate portrayed Kelly while Faustino played the role of Bud Bundy in the long-standing TV show, which aired from 1987 to 1997.
The “Bad Moms” star has been open about his journey with MS, revealing on her “MeSsy” podcast in August 2025 how she was hospitalized with “so much pain” and “screaming” due to a kidney infection.
Then, in February, Applegate revealed she was confined to her bed, though she still tried to be present for her and her husband Martyn LeNoble’s 15-year-old daughter, Sadie, taking her to school each day.
“I want to take her; it’s my favorite thing to do. It’s the only time we have together by ourselves,” she told People. “I tell myself, ‘Just get her there safely and get home so you can get back into bed.’ And that’s what I do.”
Additionally, the “Sweetest Thing” star has revealed how difficult her MS battle has been on Sadie after the latter admitted to missing who Applegate was before her diagnosis.
