Ariana Grande and ‘Wicked’ co-star Cynthia Erivo squash feud rumors with ‘Eternal Sunshine’ tour duet
Ariana Grande is continuing to squash feud rumors with Cynthia Erivo.
The singer invited her “Wicked” co-star to perform a sweet duet during the latest stop on her “Eternal Sunshine” tour in London over the weekend.
The iconic duo took the stage to sing “For Good” from the 2025 Jon M. Chu-directed sequel and Barbra Streisand’s 1991 hit “Get Happy/Happy Days Are Here Again” at the O2 Arena, per fan footage circulating on social media.
They left fans at the sold-out show in awe, as they adoringly smiled at each other throughout the performance. At one point, Grande tenderly kissed Erivo’s hand.
Several people gushed over Grande, 33, and Erivo, 39, online, with one commenting under a video, “We love the way Cyn and Ari’s voices blend together, they’re soulmates 🙂↕️🙂↔️.”
“I would be bawling my eyes out omg,” a second added.
Grande portrayed Glinda, while Erivo played Elphaba in the 2024 musical movie “Wicked” and the 2025 sequel, “Wicked: For Good.”
The dynamic pair formed a strong bond while working together and were often seen holding hands while promoting the films.
“We walk hand-in-hand very often,” Erivo shared on “The Drew Barrymore Show” in December 2024. “Like, if we’re not walking hand-in-hand, we’ll find each other somewhere.”
“I think we assume that physical connection can only be romantic,” the actress continued. “Sometimes you can’t say anything and you’re in a room … it’s just like a squeeze of a hand and that’s sometimes how she and I communicate.”
Grande echoed Erivo’s sentiments during an interview on Amy Poehler’s “Good Hang” podcast in November 2025, explaining that she “channel[s] a lot of energy through [her] hands” and that she and her co-star had “worked hard to maintain” their ongoing relationship since filming wrapped.
“We’re both so busy but do our best to stay connected in that way and to take care of each other so we can honor the project as much as humanly possible,” the “POV” singer added.
Additionally, Erivo proved her loyalty to Grande when she protected the latter against a crazed fan at the premiere of “Wicked: For Good” in Singapore last November.
In February, Erivo also addressed rumors about whether she and Grande were secret lovers, telling the Stylist that it was “a strange fascination.”
“People either thought we were putting it on for the cameras or that we were lovers,” she told the outlet.
The Oscar nominee later responded to allegations that she and Grande weren’t “actually friends” after they weren’t seen together when press wrapped up for the second “Wicked” film.
“I think that people didn’t really believe that we were actually friends,” she told Variety in May, explaining that she and the “Thank U, Next” songstress text every day.
Clapping back at the critics, Erivo added, “But that’s also because people don’t know me very well. If I’m a friend, then I’m a friend. If I’m not, then I’m not.”
