Phoebe Bridgers Looks Positively Ethereal in Gray Naked Dress at Venice International Film Festival
Fall is right around the corner, but Phoebe Bridgers turned up the heat at the 2026 Venice International Film Festival.
Stepping out at the Saturday, September 5, premiere of Primetime, Bridgers, 32, sashayed down the red carpet in a completely sheer Alexander McQueen gown. The gray frock featured billowing long sleeves and a lengthy train dotted in embroidered flowers. The Boygenius musician sported a pair of black lace undergarments that were visible underneath her translucent skirt.
Bridgers, who accessorized her ensemble with silver drop earrings and a handful of coordinating rings, styled her platinum blonde tresses into a face-framing updo.
The “Kyoto” singer, who makes her acting debut in Primetime, has long been candid about her style and picking out ‘fits that she personally prefers the best.
“I usually just style myself, and it works out great, but it’s a lot of work for the amount of stuff that I do,” Bridgers told Who What Wear in a 2021 interview. “And also, it’s way more fun to just play dress up and not wear your own clothes for stuff when possible.”
At the time, Bridgers acknowledged that she had “very specific rules” with picking outfits.
“I’ve started warming up to gray suits lately, but other than that, I don’t really wear anything other than black,” she quipped. “So I’m looking for anything black., Even in stores like Vince, which I really love, I’ll just go to the black rack. I do the same thing at thrift stores. It just makes my life a lot easier.”
While Bridgers is known for her neutral colored wardrobe, she hasn’t always stuck to one color palette.
“I wish that it was something I’d always done. Photos of me in high school — before I figured it out — are just so dark,” she recalled. “I had a dress that was covered in melons. I think it was bright yellow. That was rough. I think I just realized that all the things in my closet that were black were the most flattering. If you just invest in a great pair of shoes or something, then you can get away with really whatever. And once I figured that out, I was off to the races.”
