Adam Sandler dresses down in Knicks sweats at ‘Office Romance’ premiere

Adam Sandler is thoroughly devoted to his sweatpants.

On Tuesday night, the actor showed up at the LA premiere of “Office Romance” in signature style to support wife Jackie Sandler.

While the actress, who stars in the Netflix romcom, was in a little black dress from Schiaparelli and sky-high heels, her husband chose to show his love to the New York Knicks.

The notoriously schlubby star chose a pair of blue sweatpants and bright orange Knicks hoodie ($150), as an homage to his home team after they dominated the Cleveland Cavaliers to advance to the NBA Finals.

The wardrobe choice quickly went viral on Reddit, with many criticizing his uber-casual look.

“I feel like it’s one thing when he’s promoting or doing his own projects but for his wife’s work you think he could throw on some khakis and a golf shirt at least lol,” wrote one Reddit user.

Another replied, “Yeah this is his schtick now.”

Some, however, jokingly came to his defense, writing, “I mean, for Sandler that’s pretty much formal wear,” which elicited the response, “The text colour matches the pant colour; that’s effort right there. Or was it sold as a set.”

Though Sandler’s laissez-faire approach to dressing is nothing new, he has dressed up on occasion, including for the “SNL 50” red carpet.

“It’s a terrible feeling,” the star said of his spiffy suit at the event.

During last year’s Oscars, Sandler crashed Conan O’Brien’s opening monologue wearing a blue zip-up hoodie and basketball shorts, poking fun at his signature casual wear.

“You’re dressed well, Adam,” O’Brien joked, adding that he was “dressed like a guy playing video poker at 2 a.m.”

But frequent co-star Jennifer Aniston wasn’t having any of his antics at the “Murder Mystery 2” premiere in 2023. While she looked dazzling in a Versace minidress, Sandler showed up in a white Knicks sweatshirt (this one from Todd Snyder), layered over a Hawaiian shirt and paired with khakis and blue sneakers.

“What the hell are you doing?!” Aniston exclaimed when she saw him at the event.
