Alex Warrens Performs Wedding Song About Wife Kouvr Annon Alongside Engaged Ballet Dancers at Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade
Love was in the air as Alex Warren performed at the 2024 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.
The singer, 24, performed his hit “Carry You Home” during the yearly festivities down the heart of Manhattan on Nov. 28, appearing on Kinder’s workshop-in-the-clouds float. NBC co-host Savannah Guthrie introduced the singer as “fresh off his global tour” before he began to sing.
For the performance of the love ballad, Warren was joined by New York City Ballet principal dancers Tiler Peck and Roman Mejia, who recently got engaged on Sept. 15, 2024.
Warren’s song, originally released in May 2024, was written as a wedding song for his wife Kouvr Annon, who he married in June 2024. The music video was released that same month and featured sweet behind-the-scenes moments from their nuptials.
“This night felt like a fairy tale, I imagined this day my entire life but it was so much better than I could ever imagine,” Warren wrote in the YouTube caption at the time. “Im a married man now, and it feels AMAZING.”
Warren joined a host of Thanksgiving Day performers representing a variety of industries, from Broadway talents to recording artists, influencers and Hollywood stars. Other parade features include Ariana Madix, Bishop Briggs, Charli D’Amelio, Chloe Bailey, Coco Jones, Dan + Shay, Dasha, Idina Menzel, Jimmy Fallon & the Roots, New Kids on the Block’s Joey McIntyre, Kylie Cantrall, Lea Salonga and Liza Colón-Zayas of The Bear.
Cynthia Erivo, Oh, Mary! writer/star Cole Escola, Kylie Minogue, Jennifer Hudson and Billy Porter also starred in the famed autumn event.
Shortly before his performance at the 98th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day celebration, Warren spoke to PEOPLE about feeling “amped” about the opportunity.
“I grew up watching that, so the fact that I’m now going to be able to be in it’s a dream come true, honestly,” he said.
Not to mention this year marks the first time the musician is spending the holiday away from his usual family traditions. “I’ve only ever been home for Thanksgiving, so that’s going to be very cool to be somewhere else for it,” he adds.
Warren experienced another exciting milestone earlier this year when he married his longtime partner Kouvr Annon. They tied the knot in a romantic garden ceremony at the Ethereal Gardens in Escondido, Calif., on Saturday, June 22.
“Getting married is extremely important to me,” Warren told PEOPLE at the time. “When I met Kouvr and the way she made me feel, I never wanted to let go of that feeling.”
