‘All’s Fair’ director defends Kim Kardashian’s legal drama as show gets abysmal reviews

All’s not fair.

Anthony Hemingway, who directed four episodes of Ryan Murphy’s “All’s Fair” legal drama starring Kim Kardashian, defended the widely-panned series against negative reviews on Wednesday.

The director insisted to the Hollywood Reporter that it’s impossible to “please everybody,” claiming he “personally enjoy[s]” the show.

Hemingway, who is also one of the project’s executive producers, explained to the outlet that “sometimes things take time” to “develop a taste for” them.

He said, “I did ‘The Wire.’ No one liked the show when it was out. They hated it. They didn’t watch it. Two people watched it every week. But it got to a point where it found a moment.

“I’m not comparing the show to ‘The Wire’ — let’s get that straight,” Hemingway clarified. “But it’s an example of how people can react to something in one moment, and it becomes something totally different in another time.”

He doubled down, saying, “The show takes a minute to get into gear, but I do feel like it is absolutely striking something that is refreshing and creatively fulfilling.”

Hemingway went on to seemingly address criticism of Kardashian’s performance in particular.

“You can’t also expect one person to define something and for that be the totality of what it is,” he added. “I don’t agree with that.”

Ultimately, Hemingway said, “You may have certain criticisms, while there are a million others who love it. I think the show holds a mirror up to each person who watches it. It’s just about: Can you connect to it or relate to it, and see yourself?

“It may be out of your league, it may not be anything you can connect to, and I think that goes for anything that gets presented on screen,” he concluded.

The series premiered on Hulu Tuesday, with Kardashian playing divorce lawyer Allura Grant.

The “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” alum’s A-list co-stars include Naomi Watts, Teyana Taylor, Sarah Paulson and Glenn Close.

“All’s Fair” received a shockingly low 0% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and has been dubbed the “worst TV show of the year” by USA Today’s Kelly Lawler.

Other critiques labeled the series “brain dead,” as well as “tacky and tasteless,” with one blasting Kardashian’s acting as “stiff and affectless without a single authentic note.”

The Skims co-creator and her colleagues have yet to respond to the backlash.
