Amanda Batula Reveals Where She Stands with Ex Kyle Cooke and What’s Happening with Their Dogs After Announcing Split 

Amanda Batula and Kyle Cooke are opening up about how their relationship has evolved since announcing their split after over four years of marriage.

On Tuesday, Jan. 27, the former couple joined their Summer House costars in an interview with Kiki Monique and Dorinda Medley for SiriusXM’s Front Row series. Monique began by addressing the former couple’s news, asking them how they’re doing and if they wanted to share anything about the situation.

Batula, 34, quickly said, “Yeah, we’re good.” She then looked at Cooke, 43, for his reaction, and jokingly added, “And that’s it. What’s next?”

Cooke, who still appeared to be wearing a wedding ring, then responded, “I think every step we’ve taken, there’s a little bit like a weight has been lifted. Ironically, I think this last week, having kind of pressed ‘post’ together, it was a little more light-hearted.”

Batula explained that it’s been “easier to get along.”

“But we’re good. We talk all the time. We’re both traveling. So I’m watching the dogs [Reese and Ryder]. He’s watching the dogs. We’re coparenting the dogs together,” she said. “Still call him if I have questions.”

Cooke then added how Batula called him for help when her smoke alarm went off. “I mean look, more than anything, I want her to be happy. I want us both to be happy.”

Monique then added that they should ask Vanderpump Rules alum Tom Schwartz and Katie Maloney for advice on co-parenting dogs. The Bravo stars filed for divorce in 2022 but decided to share “joint custody” of their dogs, Butter and Gordo.

“I don’t know who we should be asking advice from,” Cooke joked. “We’re creating our own blueprint.”

Cooke and Batula announced their split in a statement shared to their Instagram Stories on Jan. 19.

“After much reflection, we have mutually and amicably decided to part ways as a couple,” they wrote. “We share this with a heavy heart and kindly ask for your grace and support while we focus on our personal growth and healing.”

“It feels ironic to ask for privacy during this time since we’ve always tried to be open and honest about our relationship, but your kindness and respect will go a long way as we try to navigate our next chapter,” the statement concluded, signed “Amanda & Kyle.”

The couple met in the summer of 2015, ahead of the Summer House season 1 premiere. They made their relationship official the next summer, with the Summer House finale airing their conversation to define their relationship in the March 2017 finale.

They got engaged in September 2018 and tied the knot in September 2021, during an outdoor ceremony at Batula’s parents’ home in New Jersey. They were originally supposed to wed in September 2020, but had to postpone the ceremony due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
