Amanda Seyfried grimaces as she loses Golden Globe to Rose Byrne
Amanda Seyfried couldn’t help but grimace when she lost a Golden Globe to Rose Byrne on Sunday.
When the “If I Had Legs I’d Kick You” star, 46, was announced as the winner of best actress in a motional picture — musical or comedy, Seyfried’s reaction was caught on camera.
The “Testament of Ann Lee” star, 40, winced as she clapped, before smiling and standing up.
“No one talking about amanda seyfrieds face when Rose Byrne won instead of her ??” one X user asked.
Other social media users were indeed pointing out Seyfried’s expression, while some claimed Hudson, 46, was the one who actually looked “pissed.”
Many joked that Erivo, 39, was acting “so shady” — since the “Wicked: For Good” star was not present and a straight-faced photo of her character, Elphaba, was shown instead.
Seyfried’s rep did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
The actresses were nominated alongside Emma Stone, Cynthia Erivo, Kate Hudson and Chase Infiniti.
Elsewhere in the evening, Seyfried lost again — this time in the best actress – miniseries or motion picture made for television category.
One X user noted that the “Long Bright River” star began clapping before the winner, Michelle Williams, was revealed.
The “Big Love” alum predicted she would lose while chatting with Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet ahead of the show.
“It is unprecedented to lose twice in one night because that’s what I’m looking for,” Seyfried quipped.
She went on to gush over how “lucky” she feels to be so “busy” with roles.
Seyfried wore custom Versace to the event, styling her hair in what she referred to as an “old Hollywood low bun.”
She is a one-time Golden Globe winner and previously received the honor in 2023 for portraying Elizabeth Holmes in “The Dropout.”
At the time, Seyfried did not give an acceptance speech as she was absent from the ceremony filming another project.
During Byrne’s speech over the weekend, the “Physical” alum explained why her partner, Bobby Cannavale, was not present to watch her win.
“He couldn’t be here because we’re getting a bearded dragon and he went to a reptile expo in New Jersey,” she said. “So, thank you. Thank you, baby.”
Byrne noted that she brought her brother George as her date instead.
