Andy Cohen doesn’t want ‘RHOM’ on pause, speaks on shows future
Andy Cohen is feeling the heat from “The Real Housewives of Miami” fans.
According to Page Six Radio hosts Danny Murphy and Evan Real, the king of Bravo isn’t thrilled with the network placing the series on pause.
“Andy was like ‘I know guys, I don’t want it paused either,’” Murphy shared on Tuesday’s radio show, after speaking with Cohen at the “Real Housewives of Rhode Island” premiere the night prior. “But he said there’s a lot of shows going on at Bravo right now. He’s like, ‘Don’t you think it’ll be good when there’s not so many shows?’”
Right now, the roster is capped at seven series on the reality network — including returning series, “The Valley,” on April 1 and the debut of “RHORI” premiering on April 2.
“It’s a lot,” Murphy added. “In a great way.”
As for Cohen, the “Watch What Happens Live” host seems to think the public would be happier if the show came back after “people get some things figured out.”
“He was really convincingly saying don’t count out Miami,” explained Murphy.
“I was so confused,” Real chimed in. “Everyone interpreted the pause as a cancellation.”
The “Virtual Reali-Tea” host admitted that Cohen left him with the impression “RHOM” could return “in the near future.”
“I don’t think the Miami housewives are dead forever. I really don’t,” Real added. “It did feel so good to hear Andy say that.”
Page Six confirmed the cancellation earlier this month, with an insider telling us that the women on the show (Alexia Nepola, Lisa Hochstein, Larsa Pippen, Julia Lemigova, Guerdy Abraira, Stephanie Shojaee and “friends” Marysol Patton, Adriana de Moura and Kiki Barth) were given a heads-up before news broke.
While it’s not the first time the series has been shelved, the network’s decision comes amid low ratings.
“RHOM” concluded Season 7 with a three-part reunion in October 2025 — but has long been among the least-watched shows of Bravo’s “Real Housewives” franchise.
Filming for Season 8 had previously been delayed amid conversations about a major cast shake-up.
“There is some chatter amongst those in the know that ‘RHOM’ is going to be canceled. There has been trouble with casting,” a source told Reality Blurb at the time.
The insider claimed the problem is partially related to Nepola’s ex-husband Todd Nepola’s $10 million defamation lawsuit against Bravo, which he filed in October.
“Some of the issues have to do with Alexia due to Todd’s lawsuit (which he filed) and how Todd won’t be on the show,” they added.
“Without Todd, her story would be more or less dead, and that would have an effect on the entire franchise.”
Todd filed to dismiss the suit with prejudice in December.
Despite Cohen’s take, a second source claimed that the break is “going to be a very long pause, which many are interpreting to mean the show is canceled.”
As Page Six previously reported, Abraira and Lemigova were on the chopping block, while newcomer Shojaee was on the fence about returning for another round.
“RHOM” was first put on ice by the network in 2013 following its third season.
Fans were shocked to learn that the iconic series would be making its comeback as a Peacock Original in 2021.
Seasons 6 and 7 aired on Bravo.
