Anne Burrell made heartfelt vow with fellow Food Network chef less than a week before she died

Anne Burrell’s friends are remembering the late Food Network star.
Taking to Instagram Tuesday, fellow chef Elizabeth Falkner posted a heartfelt tribute to her pal, accompanied by a photo of the two smiling together in a kitchen.
Falkner — who has appeared on cooking shows like “Iron Chef America” and “Top Chef” — wrote that she had “just reconnected with Anne last week” when she was in New York and that the two had vowed to reconnect more often.
“It’s always so strange to post things on Instagram like this,” she continued. “But I just want to say that I always admired her and her cooking. We hung out back in the OG days late nights in NY here and there.”
Falkner described Burrell as a “fierce and fun culinary competitor” when they appeared on the “Next Iron Chef” together — and remembered one night when they went “karaoke singing” in Santa Monica, Calif.
“We just sang some songs and laughed,” she recalled.
Falkner said “it was so good” to see Burrell just last week, adding, “I feel blessed that she came to my dinner and she thanked me profusely for inviting her. We made a vow to be even better friends.”
She concluded the post, “You will seriously be missed Chef. 💔🗡️.”
As Page Six previously reported, the celebrity chef, 55, was found unconscious at her Brooklyn, NY, home Tuesday morning.
Burrell’s family members described her as a “beloved wife, sister, daughter, stepmother, and friend.”
“Her smile lit up every room she entered,” her loved ones wrote in a statement confirming the sad news.
“Anne’s light radiated far beyond those she knew, touching millions across the world. Though she is no longer with us, her warmth, spirit, and boundless love remain eternal.”
Burrell’s cause of death has yet to be revealed. However, a rep for the New York City Fire Department told Page Six Wednesday that a 911 caller claimed she went into “cardiac arrest” and was “DOA [dead on arrival].”
Just last week, the “Cook Like a Rock Star” author appeared healthy and happy in a selfie shared via Instagram.
Burrell is survived by her husband, Stuart Claxton, whom she wed in October 2021, and her stepson, Javier.
