Beyoncé spotted supporting Jay-Z at Philadelphia event
Beyoncé was spotted jamming out and supporting Jay-Z at his performance in Philadelphia on Friday.
The “Drunk in Love” hitmaker, 44, attempted to keep a low-profile as she stood off to the side next to the stage while her rapper husband gave a rousing rendition of his song, “U Don’t Know,” according to video shared on social media.
The clip showed the singer quietly headbanging to the music while Jay’s band played on stage.
Jay-Z, 56, hosted a private event on Friday night in Philadelphia ahead of his headlining gig at The Roots Picnic Festival Saturday night.
The small concert was meant to be a preview, giving a small crowd an early look at the moves he’s prepped for tonight’s big event — which will mark 30 years working in hip-hop for the MC.
His show is expected to take fans on a journey through his career hits, spanning decades of work. With such a historic milestone, fans have already started speculating the potential stunts and guests who might make an appearance.
“Jay [is] going [to] put incredible show with The Roots Picnic Saturday and Sunday bey will be on the side of the stage support her husband as supportive wife,” one fan wrote via X.
“Questlove hinted at the JAY-Z x Roots Picnic show being historic. So what we thinking?” another fan account shared, adding a poll that allowed others to pick guesses ranging from “JAY-Z Features Only,” a “Rocafella Reunion,” a surprise album drop or another B-sides concert.
“JAŸ-Z dissed Mobb Deep & Nas, brought out Missy Elliott, Destiny Child, Twista, Ja Rule, AND Michael Jackson. All in the same concert. & that was at like 45% of his current powers. There’s no telling what he’s going to do at Roots Picnic or Yankees Stadium,” a third fan wrote, referencing the rapper’s upcoming three-concert run at Yankee Stadium on July 10, 11 and 12.
It’s not too far off the mark that Beyoncé might be planning a quick cameo on stage with her husband over the weekend.
The couple, who have gone on tour together as a package before, shares several hits together including,“Crazy in Love,” “Drunk in Love” and “Bonnie & Clyde ’03.”
Most recently, they performed together on stage last June as Jay-Z made a surprise appearance at one of the singer’s France stops on her “Cowboy Carter” tour.
