Billy Ray Cyrus congratulates daughter Miley on engagement after years-long estrangement

Billy Ray Cyrus congratulated his daughter Miley on her engagement to musician Maxx Morando following a years-long estrangement.

He opened the touching Instagram post with a sweet photo of him and Miley, 33, alongside the “Hannah Montana” alum’s godmother, Dolly Parton.

“No wonder you turned out so special … You have the greatest Godmother in the world!!!” he wrote, tagging Parton in the caption.

Billy Ray, 64, closed with a photo of Miley and Morando, adding: “So happy you and MaxxAgazillion found each other!!!! Congratulations! Happy to see you both so happy!!! love Dad.”

Page Six exclusively revealed the news of Miley’s engagement on Tuesday after she was seen sporting some major bling with her fiancé on the red carpet at the “Avatar: Fire and Ash” premiere.

Morando popped the question to the “Flowers” hitmaker with a custom-made ring designed by Jacquie Aiche.

The stunning piece comprises a cushion-cut stone set in a “chunky” 14-karat yellow gold band.

Miley’s relationship with her father became estranged after her mom Tish announced that she and the country music star were divorcing after nearly 30 years of marriage in April 2022.

At the time, a source told E! News that “Miley has been closer to her mom, Tish, throughout the divorce.” A second source confirmed that the pop star was “very supportive” of her mother.

Miley later fed into chatter about her strained relationship with her dad when she neglected to thank him in her 2024 Grammys acceptance speech.

However, the father and daughter reconciled earlier this year and have been seen spending more time together since May.

In September, the singer seemed to offer an olive branch to the “Achy, Breaky Heart” singer in the form of a song.

She dropped a track, “Secrets,” in which she sings of letting bygones be bygones.

In the chorus, Miley sings, “Hero / Can I be your hero? / Call off all your forces / A white flag in the war.”

Miley said at the time: “This song was written as a peace offering for someone I had lost for a time but always loved.”
