Brian McKnightâs son, ex-wife react after singer calls estranged kids a âproduct of sinâ: âOutright disrespectâ

Niko McKnight, one of Brian McKnight’s estranged biological kids, and his mom, Julie McKnight, are fighting back after the singer called his kids a “product of sin.”
“I’m evil. That’s wild: The guy who used to make me clean his used condoms out his bathroom at 15 before Lisa got home is calling me evil Fashoooooo,” he wrote on the Shaderoom.
In a separate comment, he added, “The guy who forged [signatures] on our names is evil fashoooooooo.”
Niko then took to Twitter to speak about the “Back At One” singer’s remarks further, admitting that he and his siblings — Brian Jr., Briana and Clyde — were “bad children” when they were younger, but his sisters “deserve better.”
“They don’t deserve this outright disrespect. Hate us all day. You don’t get to be a piece of s–t forever and still skate by with all that we know,” he tweeted.
“We saved that man from federal prison. That’s all I’m going to say. But after all of this, I still love him so much because I know there’s my dad in there somewhere. But he’s a drone now. So f–king sad. Miss you, Dad.”
Niko — who is currently battling cancer — then admitted in a separate tweet that he was “spoiled beyond belief” but is working to “correct” his flaws.
Brian’s ex-wife, Julie, 52, also spoke out against the 17-time Grammy nominee, saying that she is so proud of the two sons she shares with him.
“The point at the end of every negative situation, whether it’s an illness whether it’s a fool that you have to deal with because they keep entering your life when you are no longer giving any more energy to it, it’s to only keep you down to where they thought they had you because they were the author of an extremely abusive situation emotionally, mentally,” she said on Instagram.
“And they’re no good at not being the center of that attention anymore. So when everybody pulls that away, it’s like a kid who throws a tantrum.”
Page Six has reached out to Brian’s rep for comment but did not immediately hear back.
Last week, Brian responded to a fan who defended his decision to no longer claim his four oldest biological children because some relatives can be “pure evil.”
“I wanna big up my man right here. He gets it,” the 54-year-old said in an Instagram video while pointing at the fan’s comment.
“In order to live a life that you love, you have to get rid of the evil and the negativity — even if that evil and negativity is related [to you].”
A separate fan commented on the “Anytime” singer’s post, writing that he “disowned” his children and has gone “against God.”
Brian replied, “1. God wasn’t talking about children that are the product of sin which these are 2. I didn’t raise them their mothers did 3. Know the whole story before quoting the Bible 4. Take your inaccurate negativity off my page and try being happy.”
Brian has been estranged from his four eldest children for years.
In 2019, the dad of five called them “entitled” in a video.
“I have always been the sounding board and I’ve always been the one who had to help them achieve whatever dreams that they were wanting to reach out for,” he said.
And last year, the “One Last Cry” crooner changed his name to become a senior to his newborn son — although he was already a senior to his eldest son, Brian Jr.
“So proud to introduce our son 🤍BRIAN KAINOA MAKOA JR. 🤍,” he captioned a snap of the newborn, whom he shares with wife Leilani Mendoza, on Instagram in October 2023.
“To the world with the release of my new album lovingly created for him. JR. because I am also proud to officially announce that I have legally changed my name to exactly match my legacy’s.”
Brian wed Mendoza in December 2017. She is also mom to daughter Julie and son Jack from a previous relationship. The R&B singer now refers to his stepchildren and his infant son as his only kids.
