Charlamagne tha God disses Taylor Swift’s Knicks appearance
Charlamagne tha God lashed out at Taylor Swift following her exuberant appearance at Wednesday’s NBA Finals Knicks vs. Spurs showdown.
“Why is Taylor Swift a New York Knicks fan?” the “Breakfast Club” host wondered during Thursday’s radio broadcast. “How did this happen?”
Co-DJ Envy sarcastically chimed in, “You’re from Reading, Pennsylvania. Stay down there with the [Philadelphia] 76ers.”
Swift, 36, showed up at Game 4 in a custom royal blue top with orange lettering reading, “Stevie Knicks.”
The “Cruel Summer” hitmaker attended Game 4 of the NBA finals at Madison Square Garden in support of the New York Knicks alongside pals Alana and Este Haim, who wore shirts reading “Knickelback” and “Knickole Kidman,” respectively.
Her fiancé, Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, was not in attendance due to a mandatory three-day minicamp in Kansas City.
Swift was caught on camera at various points in the evening blowing kisses at fans, shouting enthusiastically from her courtside seats and chatting with fellow A-listers, including “Zoolander” star Christine Taylor and reality megastar Kylie Jenner.
After the Knicks’ stunning comeback victory for a 107-106 final score, she was seen celebrating with “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” star Mariska Hargitay.
Page Six exclusively reported prior to the game that Swift would be attending with friends.
Charlamagne, however, wasn’t the only unimpressed media personality to shade Swift’s outing.
Knicks radio analyst Monica McNutt went viral in the hours after the Knicks’ win with an unwitting hot mic moment.
In the viral clip, McNutt — unaware she was still broadcasting with announcer Tyler Murray — asked, “Is that Taylor Swift down there?”
Murray replied that he didn’t think it was, to which McNutt pointed out Swift’s distinctive “long ponytail” and blue shirt.
As Murray snapped a pic for his wife, McNutt said, “She’s not a Knicks fan. Get out of here, girl.”
Charlamagne played audio from the leaked viral clip on his morning show, saying, “That’s what I’m talking about! Get the eff out of here, girl!”
As for footage of Swift dancing after the big victory, Charlamagne quipped, “I know hula hoops hate her. I know hula hoops are like, ‘Every time you put us on, we gon’ fall.’”
DJ Envy then defended the “Opalite” songstress, saying, “We don’t want to go too hard on her because the Knicks won. Whatever it takes for the Knicks to win, whoever is in that building.”
A rep for Swift did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment on Thursday.
