Christina Ricci shades Megyn Kelly for downplaying Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes
Christina Ricci lashed out at Megyn Kelly for downplaying Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes.
Taking to her Instagram Stories, the “Yellowjackets” star shared a quote that read, “There’s definitely a difference between a 5-year-old and a 15-year-old. But that difference is not ‘whether or not sleeping with them makes you a pedophile,’” per screenshots captured by BuzzFeed.
The next slide featured quotes from Kelly’s recent interview with journalist Batya Ungar-Sargon on her eponymous podcast, in which they went over the House Oversight Committee’s release of Epstein emails.
“I know somebody very close to this case. Jeffrey Epstein, in this person’s view, was not a pedophile,” Kelly argued.
“He wasn’t into 8-year-olds, but he liked the very young teen types. There’s a difference between a 15-year-old and a 5-year-old, you know?” the quote continued, in a re-share from @betches_news.
Ricci, 45, further weighed in via Instagram Stories, writing, “This woman is a danger to children.”
A rep for Kelly did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
Elsewhere in the aforementioned podcast, the Fox News alum argued that “the whole thing is just disgusting.”
“I’m definitely not trying to make an excuse for this — I’m just giving you facts,” Kelly, 54, remarked.
“That he wasn’t into, like, 8-year-olds,” she continued. “But he liked the very young teen types that could pass for even younger than they were, but would look legal to a passerby.”
Kelly went on to say she had been “reliably told” this about the disgraced financier “for many years” — until Attorney General Pam Bondi announced earlier this year that the FBI allegedly had “tens of thousands of videos of Epstein with children or child porn” on Epstein’s computer they were reviewing.
“For the first time, I thought, ‘Oh, no, he was an actual pedophile,’” Kelly said.
“She never clarified it,” Kelly said of Bondi’s comments about the videos, adding, “I don’t know whether it’s true.”
Kelly’s comments prompted an instant wave of backlash on social media platform X.
“SIRIUS XM NEEDS TO FIRE MEGYN KELLY RIGHT NOW!” one person wrote in response to a clip of Kelly’s comments.
“I want Megyn Kelly to say this to a 15-year-old victim’s face. I want her to look that child in the eye and say it’s less bad,” another X user remarked.
“A 15 year old IS A CHILD. Very disappointed in you,” a third wrote.
Epstein died by suicide in August 2019. He was found in his prison cell in New York while awaiting trial on infamous charges of sex trafficking of minors.
As for Kelly, this certainly isn’t the first time she has broached a controversial topic on her podcast. In recent months, she also claimed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are likely to lose their titles, bashed Sydney Sweeney’s viral transparent red carpet dress and labeled Jennifer Lopez an adult entertainer for a sultry performance over the summer.
