She may have a PhD in NYC, but legendary columnist Cindy Adams finally got her high school diploma on Wednesday night at her 94th birthday party.

Making it all doubly official, the long overdue degree was presented by none other than Gov. Kathy Hochul.

While Adams could teach an MIT course in quantum gossip — she’s long told pals she never graduated from Andrew Jackson High School in Queens because she couldn’t sew and flunked home economics.

Adams wrote of the ordeal in 2022, “I was set for college at 15. But Andrew Jackson High required females to make their own white lawn graduation dress in home ec. I can’t sew. After my mother paid a pro to finish it for me, the principal said: ‘She didn’t make her own dress, she can’t graduate.’ So: No diploma, college, graduating high school. I’m living proof that you can’t get anywhere without a college education.”

But The Post icon outlasted the school: It closed in 1994.

There’d even been a campaign for years by some of Adams’ high-powered pals behind-the-scenes, we hear, to let Adams rightfully sew up that darn diploma.

But previous officials were such sticks in the mud, they wanted her to sit for a GED.

Now Adams is a card-carrying grad of the class of ’46, a mere 78 years later.

Along with the diploma, awarded in her maiden name of Cynthia Heller, Adams was presented with a plaque that included the degree, an image of her alma mater and a “Discharge Card” from the school dated May 1, 1946.

A spy tells Page Six the diploma ceremony was all “very classy,” and that Hochul privately pulled Adams aside for the honor.

At Adams’ apartment Wednesday evening to celebrate her birthday, and witness the diploma-tic surprise, were former NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo, NYC Mayor Eric Adams, Woody Allen, Al Sharpton, Kellyanne Conway, Bill O’Reilly and Don Lemon.

Adams told us of turning 94: “I’m size 8, 5-foot-4, 118 pounds, 34B bra size, and I was there when the Egyptians were putting up the pyramids.”

Also spotted toasting Adams were soap opera legend Susan Lucci, Rosanna Scotto, Cuomo’s mom Matilda, Larry Kudlow, John Catsimatidis, Scott Stringer, New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd, News Corp CEO Robert Thomson and New York Post Group Editor-in-Chief Keith Poole.

Only in New York, kids…. ah, you get the idea.
