Collin Gosselin Says He’s Writing His ‘Very 1st Book’ After Detailing Estrangement from Siblings

Jon and Kate Plus 8 alum Collin Gosselin has a story to tell.

“I’ve been given the opportunity to write my very first book,” Gosselin, 21, wrote via his Instagram Stories on Saturday, September 6. “Today was a very important part of that process! This morning, I had a wonderful phone call with some pretty great friends of mine, who are a part of this journey.”

Gosselin did not clarify whether he secured a deal to write a tell-all memoir or a fictional piece of prose.

“A lot of things were finalized, and drafting will start next week,” he concluded on Saturday. “Details and updates coming soon! I can’t wait to share this with you all.”

Collin is famously one of the eight children of exes Jon and Kate Gosselin, who documented their family life on TLC’s Jon & Kate Plus 8 and the eventually rebranded Kate Plus 8 post-divorce. Jon, 48, and Kate, 50, also share twins Mady and Cara, both 24, and sextuplets Collin, Hannah, Alexis, Leah, Joel and Aaden, all 21.

After Jon and Kate’s 2009 divorce, Collin and Hannah moved in with their dad. Collin has since been estranged from Kate and his siblings.

“Unfortunately, it’s just not something that is easy for me to talk about,” Collin said in an August TikTok video. “As you can see, I don’t post on Instagram [and] I don’t post on TikTok much. I’m still getting in the groove of things, but, you know, I’ve realized I love to share my videos with you guys.”

He continued, “I look at it more like moving forward and just kind of sharing content, and also for like TikTok at least, unfortunately, I don’t talk to my siblings, and I very much wish that we did and that they knew who I actually was because we don’t know each other at all.”

Collin also claimed that he was “forced apart” from his siblings following their parents’ breakup.

“Forced apart, pitted against each other,” he alleged in a social media post last month. “All the fame and money in the world, but what about kids being kids? I will always love them more than anything. The tears I shed behind closed doors, thinking about the memories we could’ve shared. I love you guys.”

Kate subtly reacted to Collin’s message in a TikTok comment on her page, succinctly writing, “He knows why,” alongside a laughing emoji, when asked about the estrangement drama.

Kate has since maintained that she’s close with the remainder of her children, all of whom live independently after attending college.
