Dave Coulier finishes chemo for stage 3 cancer, wife says ‘Full House’ star was ‘prepared’ to die

Dave Coulier has finished his final round of chemotherapy after being diagnosed with stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma last year.

In a new interview with Parade, published Monday, the “Full House” star revealed he wrapped treatment in February. He is now awaiting an additional CAT scan to determine whether his cancer is “in the rear-view mirror,” per the outlet.

“Today is the first day that I really feel like, ‘Wow, I’m feeling pretty darn good. I feel like myself,’” he shared, noting that the effects of chemo got “worse and worse” with each treatment.

Coulier, 65, told the outlet that with this latest round of chemotherapy, he suffered from neuropathy — nerve damage outside the spinal cord and brain — which he “hadn’t experienced” before.

“Nausea started to increase. Dizziness started to increase. They call it chemo brain, where you’re a bit foggy — that started to increase,” he recalled.

“My days of being able to get up and walk around and be active started to decrease. Some days, I just didn’t want to do anything.”

Coulier said that by the sixth treatment, he couldn’t get himself out of bed.

“Though I wanted to move around and go out and, you know, work around the house, I just couldn’t,” he said. “There was so much cancer-related fatigue that got progressively worse and worse and worse, and I thought, ‘Wow, this is how it’s going to go.’”

The “Fuller House” star’s wife, Melissa Coulier, served as his caretaker throughout his treatment and recalled not knowing if he was going to make it.

“After [the fifth round of] chemo, he was like, ‘I don’t know if I could do this again,’” Melissa told the outlet.

“He was like, ‘I’m prepared either way. If I die, I die. And if I can stay here, great. I want to.’ Those conversations were obviously so tough,” she added.

In November 2024, Dave revealed that he had been diagnosed with cancer a month before.

Initially, the comedian thought he suffered from “a little bit of a head cold” until Melissa pushed him to go to the doctor.

Dave told Parade that if he hadn’t gone to the doctor, medical professionals “might not have been able to turn” his condition around.

Elsewhere in the interview, Dave called out critics for judging his former “Full House” co-star, John Stamos, for wearing a bald cap in support of him shortly after his diagnosis.

“He knows what makes me laugh, and when he walked out like that, I fell on the floor laughing,” he shared.

“It wasn’t us making fun of others so much as it was: ‘Let’s laugh our way through this because this is a tough journey.’”
