Denise Richards’ estranged husband, Aaron Phypers, has been charged with four felony counts after his arrest in court on Friday during his restraining order hearing.

Phypers was charged with 2 felony counts of injuring a spouse, and 2 felony counts of dissuading a witness by force or threat, Page Six can confirm.

Three of the charges have an offense date listed as Jan. 17, 2022, while one count of injuring a spouse has an offense date listed as May 3, 2022.

Phypers is currently out on bail after posting his $200,000 bond.

Phypers’ rep didn’t immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment on the charges but his lawyer, Michael Finlay, previously told us they expect the criminal complaint to be proven false and for Phypers to be exonerated.

“When a criminal case is filed the evidence has not been fully laid out and considered,” Finley said. “Criminal cases get filed all the time, and they get beaten. Just because a case is filed doesn’t mean it’s going to succeed.”

“We’re feeling pretty confident that we have shown that her allegations are false in the domestic violence case in the divorce court,” he continued.

Phypers appeared to be in good spirits after bailing himself out of the Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station Friday night, smiling as he posed alongside a California bondswoman.

Richards, 54, was granted a temporary restraining order against Phypers, 53, in July, She’s now seeking to make the restraining order permanent.

Earlier this month, Richards testified that Phypers allegedly became violent with her on multiple occasions, which matches the dates of his new charges.

In addition to an incident on Jan. 17, 2022 that she alleged resulted in her getting a black eye, she also claimed that Phypers “slammed [her] up against the concrete wall and [her] head hit it.” in a second incident that allegedly occurred sometime between March to May 2022.

Phypers has denied Richards’ abuse allegations and testified that he had no recollection of the black eye. A source alleged Richards gave herself a black eye while drinking.

“This is consistent with the ongoing untruthfulness of Denise Richards, who is trying to hide her alcohol problem,” the insider claimed to the Daily Mail.

Phypers has previously accused Richards of abusing painkillers and alcohol.

He also claimed Richards “bruised easily” and that he witnessed her getting injured “often.”

“She would bruise her arms, all sorts of stuff. She’d bruise herself while cooking … falling down,” he testified.
