Dolly Parton speaks out on health issues after sister’s alarming post: ‘I ain’t dead yet!’

Parton’s update comes after Freida ignited widespread fan concern for the country music star by revealing that she had been “up all night praying” for her sister.

“Many of you know she hasn’t been feeling her best lately,” Freida wrote in her Tuesday post alongside a photo of Dolly.

“I truly believe in the power of prayer, and I have been lead to ask all of the world that loves her to be prayer warriors and pray with me.”

Freida continued, “She’s strong, she’s loved, and with all the prayers being lifted for her, I know in my heart she’s going to be just fine. Godspeed, my sissy Dolly. We all love you!”

On Sept. 28, the “Jolene” songstress postponed her Las Vegas residency until September 2026 due to health reasons after doctors told her she had to undergo “a few procedures.”

“I want the fans and public to hear directly from me that, unfortunately, I will need to postpone my upcoming Las Vegas concerts. As many of you know, I have been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures,” Dolly wrote in her statement at the time.

“As I joked with them, it must be time for my 100,000-mile check-up, although it’s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon! In all seriousness, given this, I am not going to be able to rehearse and put together the show that I want you to see, and the show that you deserve to see.”

However, Dolly promised her followers that she wasn’t “quittin’ the business” yet despite her announced break from music in June following her husband Carl Dean’s death in March.

The country star also canceled her Sept. 17 appearance at her Dollywood theme park because she was recovering from a kidney stone that developed into an infection.

“The doctor said, ‘You don’t need to be traveling around this minute, so you need a few days to get better,’” she said in a video explaining her absence. “So he suggested I not go to Dollywood today.”
