Duck Dynasty Gets Revival at A&E Nearly 8 Years After Original Show: ‘Like Going Back Home’
Duck Dynasty is back!
On Wednesday, Jan. 22, A&E confirmed that the beloved reality series would return to the network as Duck Dynasty: The Revival.
The original Duck Dynasty ran for 11 seasons from 2012 to 2017 and followed the lives of the Robertson family, including Phil and Kay Robertson alongside three of their sons — Jase, Willie and Jep — several grandchildren and a few of their employees as they worked together at their family business, Duck Commander.
At the show’s height in 2013, 11.8 million viewers tuned in to watch the season 4 premiere, making it the most-watched nonfiction series telecast in history, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Duck Dynasty: The Revival will center around Willie and his wife Korie, Miss Kay, Uncle Si and other fan favorite family members from the original hit show, including John Luke, Sadie, Will, Bella and Rebecca and their growing families.
“With their dynasty expanding into more than just ducks, Willie and Korie will bring their signature humor and family fun as they grapple with mapping out the future of Duck Commander, watching the kids navigate marriage, children and businesses of their own, and passing down the family legacy,” reads a logline for the new series.
A&E has ordered 20 one-hour episodes, or two seasons, and the new series is expected to premiere in summer 2025.
“Going back on A&E feels a little like going back home,” Willie and Korie said in a statement. “We’re thankful for all who have followed along as our family has grown and expanded and can’t wait to get cameras rolling again on all our new adventures, or perhaps misadventures.”
Elaine Frontain Bryant, Executive Vice President & Head of Programming, A&E and Lifetime also wrote of Duck Dynasty‘s return: “The Robertsons earned a seat in homes across the country with their unique brand of downhome practicality, southern charm and relatable humor. Duck Dynasty played a huge part of the success of A&E for many years, and we look forward to reuniting with the Robertsons on the revival.”

Since Duck Dynasty wrapped, the Robertson family has only grown with the the younger cast members starting their own families. Fans have been able to keep up with the Robertson family through the series’ subsequent spinoffs like Going Si-Ral, Jep & Jessica: Growing the Dynasty, At Home with the Robertsons and Duck Family Treasure.
The news of the reboot series comes after the family revealed that Robertson patriarch, Phil, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.
