Fans spot detail connecting Meghan Markle’s polo dress with Prince Harry

This duchess loves her gingers.

Meghan Markle wowed in a sophisticated ivory dress with a peekaboo cutout as she attended the Royal Salute Polo Challenge to benefit Prince Harry’s charity, Sentebale, on Friday — and some fans on X (formerly Twitter) think the style’s name gave a subtle shoutout to her red-headed royal husband.

The Duchess of Sussex, 42, supported the Duke of Sussex, 39, as he played in the charity match in Wellington, Fla., last week, with the mom of two wearing an ivory halter design by Heidi Merrick ($515) coined the “Ginger” dress.

The full-skirted style featured a crisscross top with a tiny cutout at the abs, tying at the back of her neck in a fanciful bow.

Markle paired the dress with another style from the brand, wearing Heidi Merrick’s oversized black Santa Barbara sunglasses ($215).

She added beige Aquazurra pumps ($750) and an ivory Valentino chain-strap bag ($3,024 $2,602) to her look, wearing her hair pulled back to show off a pair of vintage gold Chanel button earrings.

Sussex fans took to X to point out the link to her dress and Prince Harry, like one who wrote, “Nothing to see here, just wearing THE GINGER.”

Later in the evening, the Sussexes joined their close friends Nacho Figueras (who also played in the polo match) and his wife, Delfina, at a dinner honoring Sentebale, which supports young people in Africa dealing with HIV and AIDS.

Markle changed into a sleek black backless halter dress ($465) by St. Agni for the occasion, with Nacho sharing a photo of the couple on his Instagram account.

As for the duchess’ forthcoming lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, perhaps she’ll sell some ginger-themed jams.
