Fans Think ‘Call Her Daddy’ Host Alex Cooper Is Teasing Potential ‘Bachelor’ Announcement

Call Her Daddy host Alex Cooper has fans buzzing about potential involvement in the next season of The Bachelor.
Cooper, 31, posted a cryptic video on the podcast’s Instagram page late Monday, September 8, of her cutting into a cake reading “Season 30” in blue icing. As she cut a slice of the cake and held it up to the camera, the podcaster noted that the inside had pink filling. “Wait, why is it pink?” she dramatically said.
“Change of plans 🌹,” Cooper captioned the post, using a rose emoji. Of course, red roses are a huge motif on The Bachelor, which, yes, is set to return for a 30th season next year.
While fans and Bachelor viewers speculated over the meaning of the video, Cooper confirmed in the comments, “Guys, I’m not pregnant.”
Some people wondered whether Cooper is gearing up to announce herself as the next host of The Bachelor, or whether she might be dropping the name of the next Bachelor on her podcast.
“Are you hosting the bachelor?!” asked one commenter. Another wrote, “Wait guys the caption. It’s def The Bachelor. Are you the host for this season?!”
Former Bachelor Jesse Palmer has served as host of The Bachelor and its various spinoffs since season 26, taking over from Chris Harrison.
Following the success of The Bachelor season 29, which concluded with Grant Ellis proposing to Juliana Pasquarosa, earlier this year, ABC renewed the long-running reality show for a 30th season in June.
Deadline broke the news in late June that Scott Teti, executive producer and showrunner of Bachelor in Paradise season 10, would take over as executive producer and showrunner of the next season.
As for last season’s Bachelor, Ellis, 31, confirmed his split from Pasquarosa, 29, in June.
“This is one of the harder things I’ve had to write, but I want to share it honestly. Juliana and I have decided to end our relationship,” Grant, 31, wrote in an Instagram Story. “We both gave this our best and poured a lot of love into each other, but after a lot of deep conversations, we’ve come to the understanding that we’re simply not the right fit long term.”
“There’s no negativity here, no resentment [and] just two people who care about each other and want the best for one another moving forward,” he added. “I’ll always be grateful for what we shared and for the growth that came with it. Thank you to everyone who supported us and believed in our journey. This chapter is closing, but we’re both walking away with love and respect in our hearts.”
Next up for Bachelor Nation is the second season of The Golden Bachelor starring Mel Owens, which premieres September 24 on ABC.
