Fiona Dourif, Daughter of Chucky’s Brad Dourif, Reveals Why She’s ‘Grateful’ to Be Considered a ‘Nepo Baby’ (Exclusive)

NEED TO KNOW
- Fiona Dourif tells PEOPLE in an exclusive interview that she is “grateful” to be considered a nepo baby — a child of a famous parent
- The actress’ dad is actor Brad Dourif, and her mom is Joni Dourif
- “I’ve just breathed this industry since I was a kid,” Fiona says
Fiona Dourif is thankful to be considered part of a Hollywood legacy.
While recently attending Televerse 2025 at the JW Marriott Los Angeles, The Pitt actress, 43, chatted exclusively with PEOPLE about being “happy to be a nepo baby.”
Fiona, the daughter of mom Joni Dourif and dad Brad Dourif — who provides the voice of Chucky in the Child’s Play franchise and has also starred in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest and The Lord of the Rings — said, “I’m grateful, [and] I think in most industries, actually, it’s quite common.”
“I grew up the daughter of an actor and a psychic. My family is quite eccentric, but very loving,” she continued.
Highlighting that she has “been around sets my whole life” — including working as a production assistant and an assistant director throughout her career — Fiona added, “I’ve just breathed this industry since I was a kid.”
Still, the star admitted that despite her famous family, “It took me a long time to make a living.”
“I mean, I was a waitress for 18 years before I was able to support myself. And here I am,” Fiona said.

The Black List actress went on to express her appreciation for her dad, telling PEOPLE, “I feel very grateful to be my father’s daughter and for all of the opportunities that’s given me, but also just our relationship.”
“I mean, he’s the least Hollywood human in the world. He’s like a hermit who lives on top of a mountain, really has his feet on the ground,” Fiona said.
Despite her father’s career in the entertainment industry, Fiona says he didn’t initially want her to pursue the same — at least as a child.
“I wanted to act as a child, and he said no. And I don’t know if that was good or bad. I’m actually pretty undecided about it,” she recalls.
“And then I did an acting class in my early twenties — which is quite late for an actor — and was like, ‘If I could do this for a living.’ I just went for it. I just went for it. I quit the nine-to-five,” Fiona continues, adding that her father has given her “a lot of inspiration.”

The pair recently worked together on an episode of The Pitt, in which Brad played Fiona’s onscreen father.
“The whole thing was very exciting,” the actress told PEOPLE when the episode aired in April.
She added, “And in the scene, he says to me, ‘I’m proud of you.’ There was this moment where it was very clear that it was my dad saying that to me about the [acting] job. There were so many parallels. I think we were both a little emotional about it.”
The Pitt is available to stream on HBO Max.
