Florida Georgia Line Reunites on Stage 4 Years After Their Shocking Split

Florida Georgia Line’s Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley reunited on stage for the first time since their shocking split in 2022.

Hubbard, 39, and Kelley, 40, took the stage at Broken Bow Records in Nashville on Thursday, March 19, to perform “You Make It Easy” in honor of Jason Aldean, who was being celebrated at the Country Radio Seminar event.

Hubbard referred to Kelley as his “brother” as they performed.. “@floridageorgialine back on stage together like no time ever passed 🤯🔥,” Country Now captioned an Instagram video on Thursday.

Florida Georgia Line was founded in 2010 and released four albums before rumors swirled of a rift between the duo over political differences.

“I unfollowed BK for a few days while we were through this political, you know, in the middle of this election and everything going on,” Hubbard said on SiriusXM’s Exit 209 in 2020. “And I even called him and told him, I said, ‘Hey buddy, I love you. And I love you a lot more in real life than on your Stories right now. So … that’s why I’m unfollowing you. Nothing personal. I still love you. You’re still my brother.’ I just didn’t want to see it every time I opened Instagram. And so it wasn’t a big deal.”

After releasing their fifth album, 2021’s Life Rolls On, the duo confirmed they were taking a break. Hubbard and Kelley’s last show together was at the Minnesota State Fair in September 2022.

“You’ve enabled us to chase this crazy dream of writing songs and playing shows and hoping somebody will show up to listen, so thank you, guys. It means the world to us,” Hubbard told the crowd while calling the performance “the closing of an incredible, incredible chapter” for himself and Kelley. “It’s very exciting for us to look at what’s ahead, see what’s next. And the next chapter ahead is very exciting, but we wanna celebrate this chapter with you guys.”

While fans wondered about Florida Georgia Line’s return, Hubbard hinted that it wasn’t his decision to put the project on pause.

“For me, it was really unexpected,” Hubbard said on the May 2024 episode of the “Bussin’ With the Boys” podcast, claiming Kelley was “adamant” about going their separate ways. “BK came to me and said, ‘Man, I’m really feeling like I want to do a solo thing.’ And I’m like, ‘Really?’ We were just getting out of our first deal. We were kind of in a sweet spot that we had worked for 10 years to get to.”

He continued: “I’m like, ‘Why don’t we ride this thing out for, like, five more years, 10 more years, and then we can do the solo thing or whatever.’ He was adamant, like, ‘Nah, now’s my time. I really need to do this for myself.’ And I’m like, ‘Well, hey, whatever you need to do, bro. Like, what do you want from me?’ He’s like, ‘I just want support.’”

More recently, Hubbard clarified that the split wasn’t as serious as fans thought, claiming on the “Human School” podcast in December 2025, “This only became big and dramatic on the internet. … We both accepted it way before the internet accepted it.”

Hubbard revealed at the time that he hadn’t spoken to his former bandmate “in the last couple years,” adding, “But we’re going on a hike … I miss the guy that I was partners with for 10 years. I miss my old roommate, my best man [at] my wedding.”

Before taking the stage together on Thursday, Hubbard and Kelley reunited for a family ski trip in Idaho.

“Proof that God’s timing is always better than ours,” Brian’s wife, Brittney Kelley, wrote via Instagram earlier this month. “This week was about healing, laughter, and remembering the ‘why’ that brought us together in the first place. We left with peace about the past and a reminder that redemption is real and the future is bright.”
