Former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau Attends Katy Perry’s ‘Lifetimes Tour’

Justin Trudeau is seeing fireworks when it comes to Katy Perry.
The former Canadian Prime Minister, 53, was standing nearly front row at Perry’s Wednesday, July 30, Lifetimes Tour sold-out concert at Belle Centre in Montreal, Canada. Per footage circulating online, Trudeau could be seen nodding his head to the music and smiling as Perry, 40, performed one of her hits on stage. He kept it casual for the event, blending in with the crowd in a black T-shirt and pants.
Trudeau’s presence wasn’t the only high point of Perry’s day — the singer’s daily album streams skyrocketed on Spotify, receiving 45.3 million in a span of 24 hours. Perry will wrap up her Canadian shows on Friday, August 1, with a concert in Québec City before continuing the U.S. leg of her tour back in states with an August 3 show in Detroit, Michigan. Thanks to overwhelming demand, Perry also announced additional shows in Asia at the end of the year, adding to previous sold-out dates.
Tonight’s Trudeau-attended performance comes just two days after Perry and the politician were spotted spending time together multiple times in one day. Trudeau and Perry first took a stroll in Montreal’s Mount Royal Park while walking the “Firework” singer’s dog on Monday, July 28, before they were photographed having dinner together inside restaurant Le Violon.
Us Weekly reached out to Trudeau and Perry for comment at the time.
Perry was previously engaged to Orlando Bloom. Us confirmed in June the twosome, who share 4-year-old daughter Daisy, called off their wedding after nearly a decade together. (Bloom is also the dad of son Flynn, 14, whom he shares with ex-wife Miranda Kerr.)
“Katy and Orlando have split but are amicable,” a source exclusively told Us at the time, noting that the split, which was “a long time coming,” was not a “contentious” one. “Katy is, of course, upset but is relieved to not have to go through another divorce, as that was the worst time in her life,” the inside added.
Reps for the pair later confirmed that Perry and Bloom had been focused on “shifting their relationship” to “focus on coparenting” over the past few months. The statement continued: “They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is — and always will be — raising their daughter with love, stability and mutual respect.”
Trudeau, meanwhile, was married to Sophie Grégoire Trudeau for 18 years before they announced the end of their marriage in 2023. The exes share three children: Xavier, 17, Ella-Grace, 16, and Hadrien, 11.
“Hi everyone. Sophie and I would like to share the fact that after many meaningful and difficult conversations, we have made the decision to separate,” Trudeau, who served as Canada’s prime minister from 2015 until March of this year, wrote via Instagram. “As always, we remain a close family with deep love and respect for each other and for everything we have built and will continue to build. For the well-being of our children, we ask that you respect our and their privacy. Thank you.”
