Gwyneth Paltrow Gave Timothée Chalamet Skincare Advice Thinking His Marty Supreme Makeup Was His Actual Face

Gwyneth Paltrow thought she was doing her Marty Supreme costar Timothée Chalamet a favor when she gave him some skincare recommendations. 

The 53-year-old Goop founder told the hilarious story on the Tuesday, Dec. 2, episode of The Run-Through with Vogue podcast, starting off by saying she’s always wanted to alter her appearance for an acting role. 

“I look forward to playing older parts for sure,” she said. “In Marty Supreme, Timothée has pockmarks, and they made his eyes beady with contacts and glasses. And it’s all makeup. And he has in real life, he has beautiful skin… I’ve never done anything like that where I’m really transformed in the face.”

However, Paltrow didn’t know this from the start of filming, which led to a funny exchange between the costars on set. 

“He made a comment, and I was like, ‘Oh, you know, you can do microneedling for that,’ ” she recalled, laughing. “And he’s like, ‘This is makeup!’ I was like, ‘Oh, s—.’ I didn’t realize. The makeup was so good that I thought he had little acne scars.” 

In reality, Paltrow said the 29-year-old actor has “beautiful skin,” adding, “His skin in real life, you’re like, oh my gosh.”

Paltrow also was asked about her recent comments in British Vogue where she admitted to not knowing that Chalamet was dating Kylie Jenner when he told her his girlfriend had two children. When asked for her own kids’ reaction to this revelation, Paltrow quipped, “They don’t read my articles. Are you kidding?” 

Apple, 21, and Moses, 19, whom she shares with ex-husband, Chris Martin, are known for giving their famous mom grief. 

“I don’t remember how I found out, but they were like, ‘Mom, you are so like, are you insane? How can you not know this?’” Paltrow recalled. “But I don’t know. I just, I don’t read that kind of stuff.” 

Chalamet and Jenner were first romantically linked in 2023. The reality star and makeup mogul shares daughter Stormi, 7, and son Aire, 3, with her ex Travis Scott.
