Hayden Panettiere claims mom superglued teeth in her mouth when hers fell out

Hayden Panettiere claims her mother and former manager, Lesley Vogel, once superglued teeth into her mouth so she wouldn’t lose out on an acting gig.

In her new memoir, “This Is Me: A Reckoning,” the actress recalls getting a dental implant after losing her right front baby tooth when she was 8 years old.

Despite the dentist, Dr. Bob, suggesting that Panettiere use a denture adhesive to keep the flipper in place, Vogel opted for a quicker fix while the mother-daughter duo was on set in Chicago.

Panettiere, now 36, recounts her mom telling her, “Give me the tooth you lost. And cross your fingers.”

“I dutifully handed Mom the tooth and watched her squeeze a dab of superglue onto it. Then she affixed the tooth to the flipper,” she pens.

“Partly in horror and partly out of respect for the MacGyver-like skills I had no idea she possessed,” the “Nashville” alum recalls. “I stepped back to give Mom some room.”

Panettiere said a “little voice” in her head advised her that if the superglue wasn’t fully dry she’d be stuck with the flipper for life.

“I closed my mouth and licked my top teeth,” she recounts. “Then I opened my mouth and smiled.”

The flipper did cause a slight speech impediment, with Panettiere saying, “Lisp be damned. I got the job.”

This wasn’t the only story Panettiere shared about her estranged mom, 70, in her new memoir.

The “Scream VI” actress also recalled the real reason she was allegedly fired from 2002’s “Panic Room.”

Panettiere claims that, as an adult, she discovered that producers had replaced her as Jodie Foster’s daughter in the film because of a hair dispute.

“The director spoke to Mom about cutting my hair so I would look more like Jodie Foster, who’s always rocked a great bob,” she writes. “Mom said ‘no.’ It was a dealbreaker.”

Vogel — whose son, Jansen Panettiere, died in 2023 at the age of 28 — had managed her daughter’s career since she was a child star.

However, at 19, Panettiere decided to end their business relationship.

She recounted telling her mom, “I don’t want us to work together anymore; I just want you to be my mom,” to which Vogel allegedly replied, “You owe me.”

The actress also spoke about the alleged conversation while appearing on the “Jay Shetty” podcast earlier this month, claiming, “And that’s all [my mom] said, and she walked out.”

The “Remember the Titans” star claimed that Vogel “didn’t pursue” any sort of mother-daughter relationship with her after that day.

She also confessed she used to feel “very guilty” that her career affected her ability to spend time with Jensen.

“I remember [my mom] actually turning to me one night and saying, ‘You’re the reason why I’m missing my son growing up.’ And that was a punch in the gut,” Hayden claimed.

Meanwhile, Vogel clapped back at her daughter’s tell-all, expressing to Page Six that she believes “the present drama is partially to sell books.”

She added that “after 20 years of trauma, I took the advice of professionals and chose the no-contact route.”

“As many parents of entertainment children [know], we are all too familiar with the painful observation of watching the self-destructive paths they sometimes choose,” Vogel continued. “No parent hopes for this scenario; we want our children to be the best of themselves and live a peaceful, joyful life!”

“Sadly, this is out of our control,” she noted. “You cannot save someone who does not want to be saved.”
