‘Healing’ Cassie Ventura speaks out about Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs abuse video for first time: Domestic violence ‘broke me’

Cassie Ventura released an emotional statement nearly one week after surveillance footage surfaced showing Sean “Diddy” Combs beating her in 2016.

“Thank you for all the love and support from my family, friends, strangers and those I have yet to meet,” the “Me & U” singer, 37, wrote via Instagram Thursday. “The outpouring of love has created a place for my younger self to settle and feel safe now, but this is only the beginning.”

She continued, “Domestic violence is THE issue. It broke me down to someone I never thought I would become.”

Ventura, who performs under the mononym Cassie, went on to give an update on her “healing journey,” which she said is “never ending.”

She added, “With a lot of hard work, I am better today but I will always be recovering from my past.”

The “Long Way 2 Go” performer urged her followers to “open your heart to believing victims the first time.”

She explained, “It takes a lot of heart to tell the truth out of a situation that you were powerless in. I offer my hand to those that are still living in fear. Reach out to your people, don’t cut them off. No one should carry this weight alone.”

CNN released footage on May 16 of Combs, 54, kicking and dragging his then-girlfriend in a hotel.

The rapper also could be seen forcibly throwing an object at her.

Combs took to Instagram Sunday to apologize, saying, “My behavior on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I’m disgusted.”

The record producer, notably, did not mention his ex’s name in his selfie-style video.

CNN later reported that Combs cannot “say Cassie’s name” per the former couple’s November 2023 lawsuit settlement — which occurred one day after she accused him of rape, physical abuse and more.

Cassie’s husband, Alex Fine, posted a pointed statement of his own over the weekend.

The personal trainer, 31, blasted “abusers,” writing, “Men who hit women aren’t men. Men who enable it and protect those people aren’t men.”

Fine began dating Cassie in 2018, shortly after her split from Diddy made headlines.

The couple tied the knot in August 2019 and went on to welcome two children — daughters Frankie, 4, and Sunny, 3.

Since Cassie’s bombshell lawsuit, Combs has been hit with many others from former employee Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones, model Crystal McKinney and more individuals.

In March, his Miami and Los Angeles homes were raided by federal agents in connection with a sex trafficking investigation.

The music mogul has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing via his lawyer.
