How to watch the 2025 AMAs live for free: Red carpet, time, streaming

What happens in Vegas tonight isn’t staying in Vegas.
The American Music Awards are airing live from the Fountainbleau in Las Vegas on Monday, with Jennifer Lopez serving as host.
If you’re hoping to watch the fan-voted show but don’t have cable, read on for everything you’ll need to know to catch it from home (and for free, at that).
When are the 2025 AMAs?
The American Music Awards air live on Monday, May 26, 2025 at 8:00 p.m. ET/5:00 p.m. PT on CBS.
How to watch the 2025 AMAs
Since the American Music Awards are on the CBS network, you can stream them real time using live TV streaming services like DirecTV Stream.
The entertainment package not only offers a five-day free trial, but after which the price increases to $59.99/month. (Plus, it also includes channels like E! so you can stream the red carpet, too.)
For more live options, Hulu+ Live TV also comes with a seven-day free trial.
If you subscribe to the Paramount+ With Showtime bundle, you’ll also be able to view a live stream of the awards.
Who is hosting the 2025 AMAs?
AMAs regular Jennifer Lopez is hosting for the first time since 2015. She’s posted several behind-the-scenes snaps from rehearsals in the lead-up to the big night, including sharing selfies of a face injury she sustained while practicing.
“We’re doing a very high-energy athletic number, so it’s, I guess, bound to happen,” she told People last week.
Who is nominated at the 2025 AMAs?
Kendrick Lamar leads the pack this year with 10 nominations, followed closely by Post Malone, Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan and Shaboozey.
Janet Jackson and Rod Stewart are also set to take home the Icon Award and Lifetime Achievement Award, respectively, at the fan-voted award show.
Who is performing at the 2025 AMAs?
In addition to the superstar nominees, plenty of A-listers are also taking the stage. In addition to Lopez, confirmed performers include Benson Boone, Blake Shelton, Renee Rapp, Gwen Stefani and Gloria Estefan — the latter of whom will be returning to the stage for the first time in three decades.
