How Victoria Beckham Handled Alex Cooper Hinting at David Cheating Rumors on ‘Call Her Daddy’

Victoria Beckham did not take the bait regarding David Beckham cheating rumors during her recent “Call Her Daddy” appearance.

“Speculations then — at some point in your entire career — come out about your marriage,” host Alex Cooper began during the episode released on Wednesday, October 22. “I know David’s doc touched on this but can you just explain to me, for you and David, how did you handle all that when that came out?”

While she, sort of, danced around it, Cooper appeared to be referring to rumors that David was unfaithful to Victoria in 2003 after moving to Spain to play for Real Madrid. The retired soccer star’s former assistant Rebecca Loos and model Sarah Marbeck made headlines for claiming to be romantically involved with David.

“We’ve had so much thrown at us,” Victoria told Cooper. “We were talking about it because we’ve recently celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary and, by the way, people said it wouldn’t work. 26 years, we’ve had so much so much thrown at us and we’ve always just been there together and just ridden the storm. Ridden the damn storm.”

Victoria said she “internalized” her feelings before ultimately making the move to Spain alongside David.

“It was the hardest period [of our marriage] because it felt like the world was against us,” she recalled. “Here’s the thing — we were against each other, if I’m being completely honest.”

While David was playing in Spain, Victoria said it “didn’t really feel like we had each other,” which “really affected me,” she added.

“It was an absolute circus — and everyone loves it when the circus comes to town, right?” Victoria said. “Unless you’re in it.”

David initially denied affair rumors with a public statement in 2003. Loos maintains, to this day, that she and David had an affair.

“It was a very brave thing to do, to go up against them,” she told 60 Minutes Australia this past March. “I have stuck to the truth, I’ve never exaggerated. I never lied about a single thing. Why? Because I’m going up against the strongest, most powerful couple in the media. And all I had on my side was the truth.”

David, meanwhile, got emotional during the documentary when reflecting on that period of his life.

“I think we both felt at the time that we were not losing each other, but growing. I don’t know how we got through it, in all honesty,” David said in his documentary. “Victoria is everything to me, to see her hurt was incredibly difficult, but we’re fighters. And at that time, we needed to fight for each other, we needed to fight for our family. And what we had was worth fighting for. But ultimately, it is our private life.”
