Isabel Veloso Dead: Influencer Dies at Age 19 After Battling Hodgkin’s Lymphoma
Influencer Isabel Veloso has died after a battle with cancer. She was 19.
The content creator died at Hospital Erasto Gaertner in Curitiba, Brazil, on Saturday, January 10, the Brazilian outlet Mix Vale reported. She had reportedly been hospitalized since November 2025.
Veloso, who was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 2021, chronicled her cancer battle for her 4 million Instagram followers. Three years before her diagnosis, she and husband Lucas Borbas welcomed son Arthur.
Prior to her death, Veloso shared an open letter to her son while sharing photos of him.
“Hey there my love,” she began via Instagram in October 2025, in a message translated to English. “Mum is not with you right now and I know you feel it. I know my lap is missing. And that smell you are looking for in the air is not yet there … but i want to tell you something: I didnt walk away .. I am here through it all. On your pillow, on your favorite toy, the sound the house makes when you wake up. And mainly … i am inside the reason that got me up one more time: you, my love.”
Veloso explained that “mom is in a place that takes care of the body,” where she “will be strong again” to “run with you in the park. To see you growing, smiling, sleeping peacefully.”
“And I will be back. It’s gonna take awhile, but I’ll be back. With the same heart, with the same smell, with the same love. With a hug that will stick again everything that this longing has done,” she wrote. “If someone is reading this to you, know: Mom is listening from wherever she is. And what she wants most is to tell you:”
She concluded, “Because a mother’s love…. Stayed. Whole and in everything. I love you more than any distance can measure. I promise i’ll be back soon .. Mommy. 💛.”
In the comments section, users shared their support.
“It hurts to read this today, knowing he will read it one day with a lump in his throat for losing you so early 😭😭,” one user wrote in a translated comment, while another translated message read, “I believe that every mother reading this hurts the soul 😭 😭 To the people who have so much to thank, I’m here right now lying next to my daughter, healthy, there people don’t complain, be grateful, be grateful, just be grateful. 😭.”
Veloso announced via social media in 2024 that she and her husband were expecting their first baby. In the photo, the couple were blurred in the background as a faux newspaper clip was framed in the front — with a message that read the announcement was “breaking news.”
“’Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.’ Psalm 139:16,” the couple wrote in a joint Instagram post at the time. “I love you all ❤️.”
