Jared Goff Teases Tom Brady in Quarterback Season 2 Trailer: ‘You’re Retired’

Jared Goff has a snarky response for Tom Brady in the trailer for season two of Quarterback.

In the first trailer for the second season of the popular docuseries, Goff, 30, quarterback for the Detroit Lions, pokes fun at Brady, 47, reminding the seven-time Super Bowl champ that he’s no longer playing in the NFL.

The trailer features a clip of Brady, who made his debut as a Fox Sports broadcaster last season, discussing the Lions’ offensive team. “I’d love to be the quarterback of this offense. It’s just so much fun,” Brady says.

The trailer then cuts to Goff, who says, “Yeah, too bad, Tom. You’re retired,” with a sly smile.

Elsewhere in the trailer, Goff shares insight on his relationship with the Lions organization and its fan base. “I saw the opportunity I had here was special,” he says as footage of fans cheering for him is shown.

His wife, model Christen Harper, also appears in the show.

The second season of Quarterback also follows Cincinnati Bengals’ Joe Burrow and Kirk Cousins of the Atlanta Falcons as they navigate leading their teams through another NFL season.

Cousins, 36, gives viewers an inside look at his transition to Atlanta with his family. “It’s not all on him, but it’s a lot on him,” his wife says in the trailer.

Burrow, 28, opens up about the longevity of his career in the trailer, telling viewers that decades in the league go by in a flash. “You know, you only have so many of these seasons. You start out your career, you’re like, ‘Ok I’m going to play for 15, 20 years, and it seems like a lot, then you blink your eye and you’re in year 5,” says Burrow. “Next time I blink, it’ll be year 10.”

The season will also address the burglary at Burrow’s home in December. As a voiceover says, “Somebody tried to break into Joe Burrow’s house,” the quarterback is seen looking down with concern at his phone in the Bengals’ locker room.

“This life is definitely not normal,” Burrow says in the trailer.

The second season of Quarterback begins streaming on Netflix on July 8.
