Jeff Bezos is selling his $500 million superyacht Koru
Don’t you hate it when your yacht is just too big?
A source tells Page Six that Jeff Bezos is quietly shopping his $500 million floating palace, Koru — because it’s just too huge to manage.
The jaw-dropping vessel also has a $75 million support ship, Abeona, though it is unclear if this is part of the deal. According to reports, it cost $30 million per year to operate the two ships together. (Not that that’s a burden for the 250 Billion Dollar Man, but it may make buyers scarce).
We hear Koru — which features a wooden sculpture of Bezos’ wife Lauren Sanchez as a mermaid on the prow — has become too recognizable for the Amazon billionaire.
The ship, our source notes, is equipped with water cannons, which are meant to ward off pirates, but would probably also be useful for blasting paparazzi.
The ship was built to resemble Bezos’ pal and fellow billionaire Barry Diller’s yacht Eos, but on a much larger scale, making it a logistical headache.
The 417-foot vessel is one of the world’s largest sailing yachts. David Geffen’s Rising Sun is slightly bigger at 453 feet, with a source previously noting to the Post that billionaires can suffer from “aquatic penis envy.”
Still bigger is not always better. In 2025, the boat was denied a mooring in Monaco during the Grand Prix due to its size.
The yacht was also unable to get anywhere near the lagoon during Bezo and Sanchez’s summer wedding in Venice. (The couple did throw a lavish foam party onboard during the festivities.)
In 2023, the New York Times reported that Koru was too large to dock in the Florida Everglades, instead hanging out around far less glamorous oil tankers and container ships.
The yacht caused an uproar in 2022, when the builders, Oceanco in the Netherlands, needed to deliver it to Bezos.
There were plans floated in Rotterdam to dismantle a 95 year old bridge called De Hef so the enormous vessel could pass. After outcry from locals, they wound of towing the ship without masts.
Despite its issues, the boat is plenty luxurious, featuring a glass-bottom pool, three jacuzzis and a helipad. It has a crew of 36 and can fit up to 18 guests.
The couple have sailed all over the world in the superyacht, drawing celebrity pals like Oprah Winfrey, Kim Kardashian, Leonardo DiCaprio, Katy Perry, Usher and more.
A rep for Bezos’ did not respond to requests for comment.
