Jelly Roll rushed to hospital after flipping ATV in terrifying crash
He is not OK.
Jelly Roll was rushed to the hospital after flipping his ATV and breaking his collarbone earlier this year.
The terrifying crash occurred back in January, just days before the Grammy Awards. However, the “I Am Not Okay” singer didn’t reveal his “secret” until this past weekend.
“Y’all just took this thing out for the first time since I flipped it,” Jelly Roll, 41, said in an Instagram clip shared on Sunday. “I broke my collarbone.”
“I was so scared to get back on this thing,” he continued while walking around the repaired ATV. “I just knew if I didn’t get back on it sooner than later, I was just going to be more and more afraid of it.”
Although the “Son of a Sinner” singer thought he had “totaled” the four-wheeler, he revealed that one of his brothers “got it fixed” to “brand new.”
Jelly Roll — whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord — went on to explain that he decided to share the news of his scary ATV accident now because he was thinking about his broken collarbone condition during the Grammys while riding it over the weekend.
“I was just thinking, I was out there running all over the Grammys with a broken collarbone,” he shared. “Every time I hugged somebody that week, I wanted to scream. I just didn’t say it, but every time somebody squeezed me, dude, I thought I was gonna cry.”
“Sometimes the machine can do more than the user thinks it can. This was all user error,” the “Need a Favor” singer added. “Anyways, moral of the story, get back on that pony baby. Love y’all.”
“I’ve been keeping a secret from y’all,” Jelly Roll captioned his Instagram clip.
Jelly Roll also shared a photo of his X-ray in the clip, as well as a pic of him on stage at this year’s Grammys and the damaged quad from after the crash.
The three-time Grammy winner’s wife, meanwhile, shared her own social media video on Sunday. It showed her famous husband lying in a hospital bed in a gown and neck brace.
“This happened in January, worst phone call to ever get,” Bunnie Xo, 46, captioned her Instagram post. “But we got thru it thank goodness & he’s healed completely.”
Despite suffering a broken collarbone at the time, Jelly Roll attended the Grammy Awards 2026 and even walked the red carpet with his wife of almost 10 years.
The “Save Me” crooner also scored three awards during the ceremony, including best contemporary country album for “Beautifully Broken,” best contemporary Christian music performance/song for “Hard Fought Hallelujah” and best country duo/group performance for “Amen.”
“I think there’s a lot of people that are watching the Grammys tonight that feel like they’ve been represented for the first time in a long time on this kind of stage,” Jelly Roll told reporters backstage after his three wins.
“And I’m excited to be that guy to do it,” he added.
