Justin Baldoni attempts to expose Taylor Swift in messy Blake Lively lawsuit
Justin Baldoni is attempting to expose Taylor Swift in his messy legal war with Blake Lively.
The actor is opposed to public figures, like Swift and Ryan Reynolds, having their names redacted in his and Blake Lively’s court battle, according to documents obtained by TMZ Tuesday.
The “It Ends With Us” director filed an objection on Monday to Lively’s request to hide the identities of A-listers involved in their legal battle.
Lively, specifcally, called her husband, Ryan Reynolds, an “innocent third party” in her and Baldoni’s ongoing proceedings.
Baldoni’s lawyers have since claimed “not one of [Lively’s] requests meets the [court’s] high standard for sealing at this stage.”
In regard to Reynolds specifically, the “Jane the Virgin” alum’s legal team pointed out that Lively’s husband was involved in making “It Ends With Us,” from rewriting a scene to confronting Baldoni over a body-shaming comment.
Baldoni’s lawyers claimed Monday that Lively’s attempt to seal records is meant to save the public images of her A-list friends, whom she allegedly “recruited as advocates on her behalf against the Wayfarer Parties in her attempt to take over the film.”
They requested the majority of Lively’s sealing requests be rejected, pointing out that the identities of potential witnesses — which have included Swift, Hugh Jackman, Emily Blunt and America Ferrera — are already public.
Reps for Baldoni, Lively, Reynolds and Swift did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.
Swift was first dragged into Lively and Baldoni’s feud in January 2025 when the former “Man Enough” podcast host filed his countersuit against the “Gossip Girl” alum.
Baldoni’s filing included text messages referencing a moment when he allegedly felt “pressured” by Reynolds and Swift, whom the actress called her protective “dragons,” to respond positively to a scene Lively rewrote.
“The message could not have been clearer,” Baldoni’s lawyer wrote last year. “Baldoni was not just dealing with Lively. He was also facing Lively’s ‘dragons,’ two of the most influential and wealthy celebrities in the world, who were not afraid to make things very difficult for him.”
While he accused Lively of defamation and extortion in the lawsuit, it was dismissed in June 2025.
Lively’s lawsuit — over alleged sexual harassment, retaliation, breach of contract, infliction of emotional distress, invasion of privacy and lost wages — remains ongoing, with trial set for May 18, 2026.
Her close friendship with Swift, however, has taken a turn.
“They’ve had no contact,” a source told Page Six in October 2025 — but Swift has continued to come up in the litigation as recently as last month.
In December 2025, Page Six obtained Baldoni’s deposition, which referenced a message he sent a pal about Lively using the “Taylor Swift playbook” by “playing the victim” over their “It Ends With Us” feud.
“If she doesn’t promote the movie, she can leak that I’m a bad person or that she felt unsafe with me and all the stuff she has on me,” Baldoni wrote. “Then she’s the victim. So she can ask for whatever she wants because she knows I know.”
During the deposition, he recalled “spinning” out as “somebody small in the industry … dealing with a titan like Ms. Lively and some of the most powerful people in the world, which are her best friends.”
Swift was subpoenaed as a witness in May 2025, although the summons was dropped the following month.
While the pop star has not “agreed” to be deposed, she did provide dates in September 2025 when she’d be available if “forced into a deposition.”
