Kate Middleton set to attend Wimbledon as she continues to battle cancer

Kate Middleton is set to attend Wimbledon on Sunday, her second public event since announcing her cancer battle earlier this year.
The Princess of Wales will watch the men’s singles final between Novak Djokovic and reigning champ Carlos Alcaraz at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London, Kensington Palace has confirmed.
Middleton — who will not be on hand for the women’s final Saturday — has been a staple at the annual tennis tournament for years and hand’s out the trophy to the winner each year.
It was unclear if she would be able to attend this year with her diagnosis, but event organizers were optimistic earlier in the tournament that she would make it out for at least one of the matches.
“We’re hopeful that the Princess of Wales will be able to present the trophies as the Club’s patron, but her health and recovery is the priority,” All England Club chair Debbie Jevans told Telegraph Sport in June.
Middleton’s parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, have been holding down the fort this year attending the event twice in their daughter’s place.
They were spotted on July 4 and again on July 13 at the high profile event.
Kate was last seen during the annual Trooping the Colour parade in June, where she looked radiant in a white dress for her first public appearance since the diagnosis.
The princess announced she had cancer in March after undergoing abdominal surgery in January.
“Tests after the operation found cancer had been present,” she somberly announced. “My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment.”
She added that the diagnosis came “as a shock” and the family wanted to make sure her and Prince Williams’ three children — Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6 — had time to “process” the news before they told the public.
William, who has continued on with his royal duties throughout Kate’s battle, has given quick, minor updates about her condition since the news broke.
“All doing well, yes, thank you. All doing well,” he told a royal fan back in May.
Last month, the Prince of Wales was caught letting loose at the Taylor Swift concert with George and Charlotte.
Fans were delighted when the future king was videotaped dancing to her hit song “Shake It Off.”
The royal family later went backstage and met the singer, as well as her boyfriend, Travis Kelce.
