Kelly Clarkson won’t ever forget a moment like this.

During her Studio Sessions residency show in Las Vegas on Nov. 8, the American Idol winner, who addressed a near wardrobe malfunction on stage in her plunging jumpsuit, slammed a former manager of hers who told her to get a breast augmentation.

“I had some d— manager one time tell me to get a boob job. I was like, ‘Why don’t you get a d— job,’ ” the singer recalled. “I was like, I’m fine with my itty-bitty titties. Get out of here. Driving your big ol’ car, making up for it. I don’t really know. He was gross. I’ve never been there.”

The talk show host, 43, asked, “Who says that s—?” before admitting that industry professionals “say the craziest s—. This is not normal, you’ve normalized crazy.”

Clarkson cracked a joked about everybody looking like the extremely dolled-up and stitched-up citizens of The Capitol from the Hunger Games series. “Calm down. Just get old. Be glad, not everybody gets to get old. Do you, but don’t make me do you,” she said.

This wouldn’t be the first time Clarkson has addressed body-shaming comments. In 2020, she posted a powerful message on X (then Twitter) about others speaking “ill” after Valerie Bertinelli called out a rude remark on her appearance.

“True power is recognizing the projection of others negativity & punching it square n the face w/all the positive, remarkable, intelligent, beautiful light that seeps from ur pores,” Clarkson wrote. “Pity people that speak ill of others because while some of us r dancing, the others r [sic] too afraid.”

Clarkson has also been candid about her recent weight loss journey, revealing in 2024 that she used prescription medicine to shed pounds after “my bloodwork got so bad” (she has clarified that she hasn’t used Ozempic, which has become trendy).

Clarkson also told PEOPLE in 2024 about the lifestyle changes and shifts in her diet that helped her get in shape. “I dropped weight because I’ve been listening to my doctor — a couple years I didn’t. And 90 percent of the time, I’m really good at it because a protein diet is good for me anyway. I’m a Texas girl, so I like meat — sorry, vegetarians in the world!” she said.

While she’s been quick to shut down any negativity, Clarkson has, of course, accepted the compliments that come her way, joking during her May 10 show in Atlantic City, N.J., about wanting praise for her figure.

“I want every motherf—– that passes me to go, ‘Damn. Well done,'” she said, before clarifying that she still “felt very confident” at a higher weight. “I felt fine both ways, but I’m just saying it’s a lot more fun with clothes now. And I’ve been working on it.”
