Kim Kardashian and North West dismiss criticism over 12-year-old’s finger piercings
Kim Kardashian and her eldest daughter, North West, dismissed criticism about the pre-teen’s controversial finger piercings.
Earlier this month, TikTok user Mazzy Williams posted a video of herself with her hand over her mouth and head with overlay text reading, “north west getting a finger piercing is breaking my heart, just me?”
Williams captioned the video, “what is going on #northwest #kardashians.”
In the comments section of the social media user’s post, the Skims co-founder and North, 12, commented from their joint TikTok account.
“it’s okay 🫶,” the mom and daughter duo wrote.
Several users flooded Williams’ comments section with mixed reactions to North and Kardashian’s remark.
“not north gentle parenting you,” wrote one person.
“No, it’s not, you’re 12 and sorry, but your mom should do better by you (I hope you see this, Kimberly),” added another.
“Let the haters hate, your [sic] amazing!!” said a third fan.
“Being famous doesn’t mean breaking norms that edge towards bad parenting is good. ..Not even in high school yet,” commented a fourth netizen.
In September, Kardashian, 45, was blasted for allowing North to get a dangerous dermal finger piercing, which are different from regular piercings, as they “don’t have a separate entry and exit point for jewelry,” per Healthline.
The puncture featured a double piercing with a silver barbell.
The following month, the “Kardashians” star defended her daughter’s controversial fashion and beauty choices.
“It’s really hard and it’s really interesting because all the kids are wearing the same things,” she explained on Alex Cooper’s “Call Her Daddy” podcast, referring to North’s controversial black corset and mini skirt.
“But then my daughter tries to wear it and then I’m like, ‘OK, we’re never wearing that again.’ Unfortunately, we made that mistake in front of the whole world,” she added.
However, days after Kardashian’s interview aired, North continued to make headlines by rocking faux face tattoos.
Earlier this month, the “All’s Fair” actress revealed that North was actually the one who clapped back at backlash about her look.
“She writes back to a comment, and she goes, ‘This is such a non-issue,’” Kardashian recalled during Complex’s “GOAT Talk” video, labeling this a “good clapback.”
“Online, it was like, ‘Kim defends North to the end on this look,’” she noted.
