Kirsten Dunst and Jimmy Kimmel Reveal Their Sons Got into a ‘Fight’ at Kindergarten: ‘They Both Cried’
Kirsten Dunst and Jimmy Kimmel’s sons had a disagreement at kindergarten.
The Civil War star, 41, appeared on the April 4 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live where Kimmel, 56, revealed that their two sons, Ennis, 5, and Billy, 6, respectively, attend Kindergarten together — and recently had some trouble.
“They had a fight, you know?” Kimmel told the actress. “Did you hear about this?”
“I heard in our parent-teacher conference. Ms. Julie told me about it,” Dunst confirmed on the show. “I know that Billy was sitting in a chair and Ennis then went to sharpen a pencil or something. Came back, saw there was an empty chair and sat in it, and Billy came back and was mad that Ennis was in his chair.”
“I heard a similar story that Billy got up to sharpen a pencil… and then there was a displacement there and they both cried,” Kimmel said.
Dunst went on to say that was the “only drama” she heard between the two boys and that the group of boys in that class are “very sweet.” She noted that Kimmel’s son Billy appeared very “mild mannered” in school, which the late night host noted is different from how he is at home.
“We don’t understand it,” he shared. “We got to the parent-teacher conference and we’re like, ‘Really? Oh, he’s such a good listener?’ … And then we’ll go home and go, ‘Your teacher said you were a great listener.’ And he’s very proud of himself, like, ‘Why are you not a good listener here at our house?’ ”

The Spider-Man actress joked her own younger child James, 2, is “out of control,” and they call him “Jimmy” when he’s “bad.” She said they also sometimes call him “baby Chris Farley” because of “the way he walks around.”
“He’s just hilarious. He is. He’s just like a crazy little dude,” she added.
“I’m afraid for little Jimmy to go to school to be honest,” Dunst said, to which Kimmel reassured her, “He’ll do alright. Jimmys do well. They thrive. Just by nature.”
Earlier this week Dunst revealed that she and husband Jesse Plemons, 36, make sure their sons get plenty of downtime away from screens when they’re at home, because she noted that it was important for them to interact with the world around them.
“We’ve got record players,” Dunst told Variety. “We’re just not a ‘Siri, play whatever’ household. Our kids don’t have iPads either. If they want to use an iPad on the plane, it’s Dad’s iPad.”
“And we’re not phone-at-restaurant kind of people,” she added. “I’m not raising a kid that can’t have conversations at the table.”
